Granted my mac is way more modern than my PC, but whenever I load on the Mac it loads instantly... on PC after loading maybe the third or fourth patch (using the next or previous preset buttons), it is taken longer and longer before I can trigger via my midi keyboard my patch... Anyone else having this?

I am sorry to say this but man, are the presets bad!!
It´s for sure a matter of taste... I don´t mean bad in terms of quality but the kind of sounds...
The only presets I like so far are the pads... but basses???
There is not a single "normal" bass in there... just neuro sh*t, dnb extremo etc...
The leads exactly the same... I didn´t find a single one I would consider to use...
The first post says: "Current is for everybody,..."
With these presets sadly not for me... the synth is great but for the presets I wouldn´t pay a single cent...apart from the pads... these are great but I wanted actually a great general synth... not a pure pad machine...
I didn´t see that the "30 days free trial" on their page is an actual link you have to use for trying out...
I thought it would be just an underlined "highlight" and went with "Get started" having thought that it would be as with everywhere else that the first 30 days are free and than the payment starts if you don´t cancel...
I already emailed them as I find this isn´t clear enough for potential new buyers and having asked if there is a way to turn my "Get started" into the free trial as this is what I actually wanted...
Let´s see if they will let me out...

I know you are not particularly looking for advises here but if I may comment, if you are looking for incredible presets value, go to synthmaster bundle. The presets are just excellent and very diversified. Same remark for rob papen synths, predator 3 being my favorite...Trancit wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 2:15 pm I am sorry to say this but man, are the presets bad!!

"Current" added value is a super slick interface with a well thought workflow, and very solid effects and oscillators. (downside being modularity in my view).
Funny enough, if you take Phase Plant, I would put it in the same category than Current, excellent synth with great workflow but presets are just ok (better than Current, it is true).
It is funny how some apparently impractical synths have awesome presets and super intuitive ones have sometimes just ok presets.
On the presets of Current, I agree with you, they are "one genre only", Neuro/DNB but that's all, difficult to find anything else and I am not a big fan of them. If you listen to Alckemy (a sound designer) presets with Phase Plant, which are also "Neuro DNB shit" as you say
Yet I think the synth sounds awesome when playing with it, so I guess it is just an artistic choice.

I have this problem with every developer out there. They need to realise there is more, MUCH MORE than electronic pop festival music. Fair play to Kilohearts for releasing an Arovane preset pack (which was very good) but it's slim pickings if you're not into "hard" music.

But generally presets are according to the synth... Kilohearts see their synth as a modern synth for "modern" music (not in a positive or negative way if I quote them), so it is expected that they show-off more presets in this genre.fireapplered wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 2:45 pmI have this problem with every developer out there. On Diva you would expect (and get) more traditional sounds...

And a different take...
Firstly of course the more varied the factory bank and presets available, the more likely any synth is to attract more users/purchasers..
That said, I have a lot of my bread and butter sounds from tons of other synths.. It is this forcing me out of my comfort zone presets (and of course it sounds really good) that encouraged me to 'purchase' Current.

Got Synthmaster already for long time with nearly all preset packs...Jac459 wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 2:44 pm I know you are not particularly looking for advises here but if I may comment, if you are looking for incredible presets value, go to synthmaster bundle. Rob Papen though isn´t really my taste
While the "All Access" part is mainly focused on presets and wavetables... for me nothing to win here atm until they go a bit broader with their presets..."Current" added value is a super slick interface with a well thought workflow, and very solid effects and oscillators. (downside being modularity in my view).
Honestely I cannot name a single VSTi which doesn´t got at least some standard normal bass presets included without charging additional money for presets and even there is not a single normal filtered i.e. saw bass in...
That´s a tad to extreme for my taste...
Not a fan either of the presets of Phase Plant ...Funny enough, if you take Phase Plant, I would put it in the same category than Current, excellent synth with great workflow but presets are just ok (better than Current, it is true).

Exactly... the synth itself is really good especially with the top notch FX included which is a huge oversight with most developers imho...On the presets of Current, I agree with you, they are "one genre only", Neuro/DNB but that's all, difficult to find anything else and I am not a big fan of them. If you listen to Alckemy (a sound designer) presets with Phase Plant, which are also "Neuro DNB shit" as you saythey are on another level.
Yet I think the synth sounds awesome when playing with it, so I guess it is just an artistic choice.
But the presets are far too extreme ...again ... especially if you want to sell them additionally what is actually the idea behind the "All Access" plan.
At one of the first pages Minimal Audio stated you cannot get everybody happy...
That´s a bit of a stretch if you only offer such single sided presets...
Luckily they already got back to me to help with turning my active plan into the free trial...
I am really torn apart here... the synth is great and I am really considering to stay with the All Access but I am a big preset whore as well and I need often presets as a starting point for my own changes... for me atm impossible with Current...

I got Diva a few weeks ago and it's fast becoming my go to synth. I like having Current and PP for the sampling and granulation options.Jac459 wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 2:55 pmBut generally presets are according to the synth... For me the problem is more that I wanted to replace my work until now very splitted to many different synths more focused on to Current as my main goto...
Having used presets from so many different synths make me knowing all a little bit but none really... this I intended to change with Current...
But I am not a sound designer... for me a synth is a tweakable preset... but this requires presets I already like... I cannot tell this about Current´s "current" content...

I think it is a question of taste and genre... Diva is the best synth ... I never use...fireapplered wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:09 pmI got Diva a few weeks ago and it's fast becoming my go to synth. I mean I do agree, it is great, it sounds great, it is flexible, it is CLAP compliant (it matters for me) but... I very rarely end-up using it.

Yeah if you are buying for the presets... It is more a bet on the future... (on my very subjective opinion)...Trancit wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:04 pm I am really torn apart here... the synth is great and I am really considering to stay with the All Access but I am a big preset whore as well and I need often presets as a starting point for my own changes... for me atm impossible with Current...
That being said, however "still" imperfect Current is, it is not difficult to see that it has a very high potential... Clearly it is a great synth, maybe not for the GAS-oholic of KVR who already have Serum, Spire, Phase Plant PIgments or Dune, but clearly, Current is in the same ballpark and seems to be at the center of Minimal Audio - a small but dedicated company - strategy.
So I am quite pretty sure than soon, a ton of high quality presets will arrive... I don't think you take too much risk on betting on this in the future.
Another point is that MA wants to convince us to take the rent to own, because of the content being added, I am pretty sure a ton of content will arrive to choose from...

This 100%. I've got a zillion bread and butters by this point. I don't make neuro either and I hope the presets expand vastly in number and diversity, but what's there is mostly fantastic and I'm enjoying bending them to my needs.zvenx wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 2:56 pm And a different take...
