you make it easy for everyone to spot what an idiot you are - you're writing all these long posts but you still haven't mentioned one single thing that seperates your expensive 'professional' sequencers from budget ones like e.g. FL.

Sonar, Logic and Cubase are surely fantastic pieces of software but your claim that you couldn't do professional music in FL is incredibly ridiculous.

That's exactly what I did and exactly how I expected it to work. Only thing is, the knob I right clicked and created an automation clip for didn't move along with the curve I drew. I created lots of movement in the curve but the knob didn't move at all. It did move during two of my attempts, but the knobs failed to move during the rest of my attempts. Also, At one point when I right clicked a knob and selected the automation clip from the menu, a blank automation clip appeared by itself. That only happened once. All the other attempts, I had to draw the clip myself. The clips were correct because they are labled with the name of the knob I tried to automate. Maybe then, it's simply not working correctly, I'll try again, now and see if I get a different result.

are you selecting the right automation clip in the dropdown menu on the clip? (if you need a screenshot let me know, I'll post it on that thread on FL)

i said that they will always say they use the best stuff no matter what.

but more important i said that only people with the required level of skill will get the best out of these packages.

if you ain't got the skill then what you use isn't going to matter. put a monkey in front of protools and you ain't going to get a top40 hit.

give those irritating dudes atkins & watermann (?) fl studio and you will get a hit.

now do you get it ? gear does not make up for talent.

so it's not really "you get what you pay for", the truth is "you get what your skills allow"

Here is the way I see it – two schools of thought at play.

If the Artist where a Pilot,

One will learn and fly a helicopter

Another will fly a biplane

Both are nimble in flight, but each has its own benefits.

But – if the pilot has spent years in helicopters – I doubt very much that he/she could just fly a plane – and visa versa.

Some pilots however have learnt to utilise both, it enriches their ability – some may even find, though they flew planes for years, the benefits of a helicopter appealed to them more.

But then you would say –yeah! I am a pilot I fly planes, what of it – everyone knows a harrier is more nimble than a biplane – yep! But it takes a long long time to learn, and the cost difference is staggering, both in maintaining and additions.

Now what you need to decide – is which is the helicopter – the biplane and the harrier, plus is the cost relative in the audio software world

Whatever you choose – if you don’t spend time 'learning the application' – whichever it might be – you ‘will’ crash and burn – and depending how high up the scale you go, the quicker that crash would take place. :D

OK, I got it now. Everything is working correctly. I also figured out why it sometimes drew in clips automatically, and other times, I had to draw them in manually. In order for it to automatically draw the empty clip, you have to first make a looped section in the playlist. Then when you choose automation clip from the right-clicked menu, it will create a clip the length of the looped section. Without that looped section, you will have to first make the empty clip, then draw in the curve.

So wait, the biplane is PT and the helicopter is FLS? Or is the harrier FLS and the helicopter is PT? And what about hot air balloons? Would those be like Sonar or more like Making Waves?
