Well it wasn't addressed at you (see above). I didn't intend to be rude to individual beta testers.

Just to be clear, I appologise to anyone who is insecure or immature enough to have personalised my remarks, which were not intended for them.

I was however probably being rude to Mackie. And they probably deserved it

The purpose of beta test as I se it is to find and correct bugs while not introducing new ones. If this is done by module test (not moduleLR that's a person), or by hand testing by a few knowledge individuals or by a large user base are just different methods.
I have full confidence that betatesting has been done thouroughly by the betatesters, although they might not have had documents and testcases (but for regression test).

headquest, I feel your pain, I've been trying to buy T2 for a month now. I've also been sad while getting to know that there is no improved timestretch (which is a biggie for me). Not to mention the Mackie support that has ticked me of more than once.

This aside, while angry or upset I try to read through my posts more then once, maybe keep them in a tab on hold for a while, so that I dont write anything that could be interpreted in the wrong way. I also try to read the post that made me upset after cooling down a bit. All to make the world a better place. Afterall ppl are starving to death, getting raped/killed or worse. I like to keep some distance to what I write, afterall it's a music program, in the big canvas, its a small line.

Maybe I should delete this last part, nah, I'm feeling hippyish.

8) Cheers, larsby. Well put! I clearly need to make more effort not to upset sensitive people, and as you say, there are bigger problems to be concerned about.

By jove, I think he's got it, though he wasn't necessarily meaning to address his own point. ;)

Greg
You know Lunch Money, you're a self righteous bugger sometimes. Self proclaimed champion of reason that you claim to be, you incessantly defend Tracktion, as if it were your own, and resort to the bland shield of reason to blunt any offensives that might be thrown your way.
This is a forum, therefore, one may post circles, squares or any other measure of geometry that you care to mention. I have my opinion of Mackie and their distribution methods and I know there are many people who actually do agree with me. Customers complain all the time. These are pretty valid complaints I feel and if you disagree and feel so wearied then keep your beak out of it and reserve your rational approach for something more interesting.
This thread does address issues of distribution Modul'R. I was staying true to the spirit of the original discussion.

headquest wrote:Thanks for the offer mate, but the version I paid for has quite enough bugs in it already, thanks!

It has some that no-one on this forum seems to have noticed yet.. I challenge you to find them before the next release! :P

Some of them are a lot more serious than the silly little farts of nothingness you keep whinging about btw.. :hihi:

That's encouraging... NOT!

It will be interesting to see how many of the beta testers are still using Tracktion a year from now, then

no problems (although im DEFINITELY not insecure - immature is another matter though ... ) ... i wasnt personally bothered by the meaning found somwhere between what you typed and what we read since my specified role in the testing was to use T2 on an everyday basis as a regular user in a range of different circumstances rather than picking the thing apart actually TRYING to break it (didnt stop me doing i little bit of that from time to time though) ...

... as for the rest of this discussion about what other companies do and what mackie should / shouldnt do ... its a bit of a moot point surely ???

Actually, I find it very encouraging that I can report bugs to a private forum, have them verified (or not) by a team of experienced testers, and then shortly afterwards recieve a new build in which they are fixed.. if that can all happen before the plebs on this forum spot there is even a problem, so much the better! :P

Post

Every point is a moot point once discussed, meaning that much of the KVR forum is basically moot...

another reminder also that this ISNT the mackie forum (although they do watch us playing here) ...

'Plebs' ? Now you're really trying to be an ass...
Oh and it would be great to see these new bugfix builds. Or is there some private club where I might join to get the latest builds?
Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio : Reason 10

these bugfix builds are currently private and part of the ONGOING testing process ... i guess its down to mackie / jules when an official update / bugfix release gets put out ...

... might NOT be too long ... you never know ...
