I got my copy today at B&N here in Nashville. And all I have to say is that I have never gotten so addicted to a piece of software, at least since I got Tracktion.
The sound is amazing, and it comes with so much tweakability and plenty of MIDI loops. I already use DR-008, and love it. But I wouldn't mind having the full BFD also. This is a VERY nice freebie. If you want a good 700MB+ acoustic kit, then get the mag. It's really cool.
I have to admit. Since CM started having the DVD's, their freebies have been very nice. This month also has some nice samples and patches. Very nice.

koolkeys, where is Barns & N? Did they have any more copies? I went to the Books a Million in Rivergate and they had the old issue still. I live in Antioch and the Hickory Hollow Mall has nothing...

Rock,
I went to the one in Cool Springs. Books a Million in Rivergate seems to lag sometimes. But the Cool Springs B&N has quite a few copies. Also, Borders downtown or at Cool Springs usually stays up on that stuff also. Good luck! It's always good to see locals here.

Oh, and to get there, you just take 65 South to the Mallory Lane Exit and take a right. It's off there. It's across from the Galleria Mall. It's the second one on the list at the link braj gave.
It can take a while to get there from Rivergate, so maybe you can try the one at Opry Mills, It's probably alot closer to you. Do you know how to get there? It's the first one listed on braj's link above. Let me know if you need directions.

Sorry, I didn't see that you lived in Antioch. Yeah, either B&N should be close to you then. It's not too bad for me and I live on the West side of Nashville.
My wife and I are going to Borders downtown tonight. If they have it and you didn't find it, I'll let you know if they do.

Borders also had it tonight. And FM and Music Tech have DVD's with their mags now. MT is permanent with them, not sure about FM. This is a good thing. More value.

Awesome. I guess it's pretty much everywhere(except Books a Million, which is a discount store anyways). Anyone else tried the BFD "demo" yet? I loved it, although I'm having problems with my PC, so only tried it on my Mac.

I'm loving it, I'm gonna make it my default drummer for a while, maybe pick up the full version someday. I like that I can customize the kit to my liking, sort of like I have a drummer in the band that only has one kit, but I can alter the micing etc. It'll keep me from fussing about with Battery looking for the perfect drum samples anyway. I seem to spend way too much time second guessing snares and hihats, this will teach me to just deal with what I have. The flexibility of the mixing inside BFD makes up for it not having sepparate outs (which also cost me energy f**king about with effects anyway).
It was well worth the price of the mag (which I don't mind reading anyway).

It was definately a great freebie. I sent it's MIDI out using the included grooves to DR-008, so I could then use it with different kit. And the included grooves are very plentiful. The included kit is very nice, and the flexibility of mics is awesome. I've been using the DR-008 for years now and it will likely never be replaced(except for maybe with Drum-Nine). I use it with the Musiclab DrumTools for unlimited grooves, which I can also send MIDI back into BFD. I now have the best of both worlds! I will likely buy the full BFD to accompany the DR-008 in the future.
