Hey all. Have been having some fun with Odin synth recently but am getting clicks with a bendy portamento lead patch I've made. Legato mode on, 2 saw oscilattors, small detune on osc1, a bit of glide and small reverb. I had a quick scan through this thread and see there's some discussion of clicks so not sure if an issue or a setting i'm missing. I'm not getting it in other synths with similar settings. Any tips or is just just how it is currently? Thanks

yes , but I think there is more going on under the hoodEvilDragon wrote: Fri Dec 16, 2022 12:07 am No. Odin has a per-sample modulation matrix, which is the biggest CPU eater.
When modulating the phase mod osc by itself , we should get a clean saw but we get a square instead which should only happen when the squared output( power of 2 ) is used as mod .

Hi all,
I'm happy to anounce that there's a big update 2.4 coming for Odin
The update is currently nearing completion and will be released alongside my upcoming synth Spline. Release date is not fixed yet, but it will roughly be one or two months from now.
I'm looking for some testers for the current state of the update. If you're interested, see details below!
Update Odin 2.4 Preview
I've partnereder up with team Voger from Ukraine to overhaul the UI completely and finally give the synth a solid look:
Here's what's new:
UI Overhaul
- complete UI overhaul, all UI assets were recreated and repositioned
- new UI scale options: 100%, 125% (<- screenshot), 150%, 175%, 200% (before only 100% and 150% with wonky positioning)
- all widgets which are disabled now are slightly transparent to better better convey their state
- added mouse hover actions to all widgets across the UI to give a more responsive feel.
Misc
- "draw" type oscillators now apply the waveform on mouseup automatically (instead of the button from before)
- the synth will now remember the selected preset when reopening the UI (this annoyed people WAY more than I could ever anticipate - happy to receive one email less per week going foward
)
- osc semitone range now -12, 12
- removed MIDI learn feature. I'm sorry to remove a feature, but this causes more trouble than it solves currently, and any DAW should be well able to handle this much more elegantly.
- fix typos in manual and tooltips
- probably some more things I forgot
This update is purely focused on the UI side, there should be virtually no changes in processing.
Testing the Update
I'm confident in the current state of the update, but I'd like for some people to test it before pushing it out to the public. If you're interested, contact me under the email adress found on my homepage: https://thewavewarden.com/pages/contracting (sorry I don't monitor KVR too much).
I'll give you instructions where you can find the installers for the update.
If you're on linux, feel especially encouraged to join the testing
Alright that's it!

This is a great synth, and one of the best free instruments out there. So happy to hear about the new version!

Great news. I like the new look, still familiar but nicely brought up to date.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Nice! Running well on MX Linux 23.2 seems less resource intensive than older versions I have tried? Great job

Such a Great Instrument, which I use more often than some commercial plugins! Don't have "D" and when comes to analog tones I always open Odin 2 first. Modulation matrix, oscillators and filters are great, but maybe better chorus would add sth extra to the sound?
Chapeau bas!
*Maybe even more intreresting that big name above, regarding big mod matrix in Odin 2 !
