Thanks a lot...

And now the question of the questions: When is release date for Zebra 3?
And which OSCs and Filters are included?
This would be more likely a wishlist for Diva.... Zebra isn´t that Vintage Emulation thing like Diva (yeah sure the sound of the osc´s are infuenced by the Virus, but with personal adjustments and goes much further)...
It stands for itself and pushes the limits of the digital realm... and i hope the focus is gonna be on getting deeper in that terrain... Zebra is the ultimate virtual toolbox with it´s own character, and not that copycat around the corner... it doesn´t need to be a emulation to sound f**king awesome...

Nowadays almost everything is possible, so don´t limit yourself by your opinions... time to let these old opinions go, and wait what the future brings to make some new ones...
Everyone knows more than I do...

Zebra is mindblowingly good - I've recently jumped in again to properly program it, after a year or so of mainly only using Bazille and Hive where I cut my synthesis teeth. Addictive is an understatement.

I never feel I'm missing anything whilst programming, except one minor thing I'd appreciate for Z3 (or even Z2!):

A single button to reset the 4 XY pads. I know double-clicking in each pane resets each.

They're incredible performance tools, and often whilst jamming I'd like to suddenly jump back to the patch's default state, without using host automation.

If there's already a button or shortcut (ALT/CTRL etc which I've tried), great!

tedlogan,
You could go up or down a Zebra preset/patch, then return to your original patch (assuming that it is saved the way you want it), and everything will return to the original setting.
You can hear my original music at this link: https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=224436

Thanks Aaron, but that would not work at all. I need to reset them in the middle of a jam:

My patches have lots and lots of XY assignments (another thing you cannot do by normally tweaking one parameter at a time with the mouse/encoder. Lots of new sound design possibilities), and while I jam on Push or whatever, I mutate the patch via this, or bring in kicks and snares and percussion (same patch) also via XY and so on, in realtime. Sometimes it builds up to a bit of controlled chaos, or time has slowed to a crawl (MSEG Loop changes) and with one command I'd like to seamlessly reset all XY to whichever default state I've saved the patch in, while the patch is still playing, with me continuing my jam session.

As you can see, browsing to another patch and back will totally ruin the performance.

It's really not essential for my enjoyment with Zebra though - just an idea.

maybe this could be helpfull.

you dont have to scroll then

The MIDI Programs folder
Local also contains a special folder called MIDI Programs, which is initially empty. If you put a bunch of patches (up to 128) in there, they are all loaded (into a cache, for per- formance reasons) when the first instance of Zebra2 starts. Important: changes only take affect after restarting the host software i.e. MIDI Program patches cannot be added, removed or renamed on the fly!
Individual patches are selected via MIDI program change messages. As they are ac- cessed in alphabetical order, it is a good idea to put a number at the beginning of each name e.g. ‘000 rest-of-name’ to ‘127 rest-of-name’ or similar.
Banks: The MIDI Programs folder can contain up to 127 sub-folders (of 128 patches each), and these are switchable via MIDI bank select messages 1-127. The MIDI bank select message is CC#0 (Zebra2 only interprets the MSB) – send the Bank value, then a Program Change message.

Post

To reset all X/Y to fixed values you could MIDI-learn the X/Y knobs and (somehow) send the appropriate MIDI messages whenever required.

Is a granular engine going to be part of Zebra 3?
That would be  !

I would love a 5th XY with saveable grid (Kore like) to control the other 4 in one go - sort of a super macro. You could set up positions in the 4 XYs and save them as snapshots in the 5th one, then use the 5th to move them all at once and morph between them - that's basically how I set it up in Kore but I would love for this to be built into Zebra 3 - particularly if it could also be recordable.

What the heck, I was hoping Zebra 3 would be THE Alchemy killer, meaning sample manipulation that would even exceed Camel Audio in every aspect. There is a huge interest for something like this, just look at the Alchemy posts and so there is a big market for it too.

Unfortunately Camel was bought by a retarded company that is unwilling to develop their own software with the billions they make,NO, they gotta have to grab it from people who use windows too. Bitwig might be next, I fear.

Synthmaster can't deliver (yet), UVI Falcon doesn't come close, so does Omnisphere 2, Harmor ain't even.

If there is somebody who can pull it of, then it is Urs. I hope he is aware of it. Please! Why not pleasing existing Zebra 2 users and all potential users that would have bought Alchemy 2? :phones:

Post

Yup, Howard, I'll just go the MIDI-learn route in Live or something like that, cheers. It's not that important anyhow, just a suggestion for a button.

Granular engine in Zebra 3 - YES please.
