There should be an XILS-Lab folder in your Documents if you're on Windows. If not, just do a search for XILS-Lab. The docs are in a sub folder in there called documentation.

All my Xils manuals are located in one folder where all the Xils synths and effects are installed ( not the VST 32/64b folder, but the first one you define when installing a Xils plug )

To me, one of the best improvments between v2 and v1 is the GANG EDIT Mode, wich mean relative editing in case of multi layer editing. In version one the only multi edit mode was absolute (ie a parameter did get the same exact value when you edited it in all the selected layers)

In Gang Mode relative editing means that if you increase the value of the cut off in layer A by n, the cut off value will be increased by n in all the selected layers, preserving the differences between the different layers. This is very usefull in a lot of situations. To engage, the Gang Mode, well, clicking on the Gang Mode button is enough.

btw to find more about the differences between SynX 1 and 2, just visit this page.

I looked in all the usual places, nothing.
Syn-x v1 manual is there along with all my other Xils manuals but not for v2

5500 £ . A bargain

I fear that with the recent finnish Synthex 2 resurrection not happening anymore, Synthex prices will still increase.

The Syn'X 2 ChaoX LFOs

One of the 5 Syn'X 2 LFOs. You can have a different one for eack Layer/Synthesizer.

ChaoX LFOs make chaotic modulations, ie modulations always changing in a Chaotic way. They have their own rate, and delay. There are X/Y controlers, and therefore you can specify two modulations targets, each with their own mod amount. Additionnaly, you have also a global mod amount, located at the left of the X/Y Pad display. At the right of the display, you have a *smooth* control, that handles transitions between the values that the ChaoX LFO reaches.

Finally, you have four different Chaotic patterns you can choose from.

Some ways to use it : The ChaoX introduces relative instability to the values of the targeted parameters. This can be very subtle, when you increase the Smooth factor, and set small mod amounts, or very drastic. When Subtle : It's good to give a kind of VCO feel to the very precise DCOs for example, or get organic cut off changes, or to add variations to the various envelope segments so that each note is slightly different from the previous one. With drastic modulations, you'll get huge variations, and its very good at programming experimental sounds, atmos and sonic landscapes presets, or industrial and various machines/engine sounds.

All in all, the ChaoX LFOs will add -human or alien- life to any presets.

Then, you can spend time watching the X/Y display :)

Hi every one,

About the sound the Syn'X 2 is producing, here are a couple of tracks, made by Paul Barret who is liking Xils-lab products very much.

This one, done with the miniSyn'X which is sharing the same audio engine than the Syn'X 2 :

https://soundcloud.com/pianoireland/goi ... -motions-1

These two others were done with Syn'X 1.
Syn'X 2, of course is keeping the same audio quality than this first version

Just read the profile of pianoirland, you could be surprised !

And by the way, listen to some XILS 4 demo

Best regards
