so is there none in germany? or who ships to germany with a discount or something for the Upgrade from Omni1 -> Omni2 ?

Time and Space is UK-based, so you're just seeing a reflection of the exchange rate change.

In general I think prior to the Omni 2 acnnouncement some retailers were offering some sharper discounts - Spectrasonics don't do sales as such but the level of discounts seem to fluctuate a bit. Now the entire world wants Omni 2 (and rightly so), looks like the discounts are more conservative at about $25 or so from the likes of JRR shop.

Definitely no RRP change.

On a side note: while looking for interesting offers in Germany I recognized this prices from an official Spectrasonics-retailer (MusicStore):

Omni 1 (grace period) €359
Omni 2 €399

I can't remember having paid THAT much for Omni 1 years ago. :-O

$479.00 has been the MAP for a long time. More of a psychological discount really. T&S will show in dollars as well as euros too and even with exchange rates have always shown the same MAP as elsewhere. So it could be a new standing they're making on foreign sales. Best Service though, I've dealt with recently and they haven't made any such declaration on making foreign sales higher to offset current bureaucracy. I did see a couple of in country sites that showed a much higher price and then lowered it back to the regular price of 479.00 now, (maybe to give the impression they were discounting it). But the price has been all over the place lately and settling in at the 'regular price' after all's said and done is a bit... well you know...

On January 1st, 2011, Thomann's price was 369 EUR. Their price today is 358 EUR. As most European people know, Thomann always aims to be the cheapest retailer.

So actually, Omni 1 was always priced that highly.

Ozone 6 Advanced is the biggest joke. $299 to take away a few features and make the interface flatter. I'm not upgrading until Ozone 7, if ever. Feeling like I might be done with those guys at this point. I'm only keeping Ozone because of Insight (the metering), which gives over-time information about loudness compliance, etc, as well as awesome spectrum analysis of individual instruments, letting you see how their spectrums overlap. The only alternative meters that hold the same standard are Flux Pure Analyzer and that thing is insanely expensive (726 EUR just for metering) and a major CPU hog.

It's a shame that iZotope Insight is so good or I would run away from them forever. If I find a fitting replacement, then I will leave them for sure...

379 EUR in 2008, 369 EUR in 2011, 358 EUR today. That's what I call a stable price, actually. I guess it speaks to the quality of Omnisphere, that people were willing to pay those same prices year after year.

cwig does have a point here... you do not own omnisphere if i remember correctly... but "always" have more/a lot more negative to say about it then positive... just search this forum with your "username" and "omnisphere/omni"... and see exactly what i am talking about...

if 1 + 1 = 2... one could look at that as bashing...

Been along time since I ate at Mcdonald's,
but I do know Papa John's is cheaper in Iceland than it is in California.

And I often get much better deals for physical products from Best Service (Germany) or even Audio Deluxe (Tennessee?) than I would from say, JRRShop. Such is the nature of taxes, vat and fees. Surprised at anyone here that doesn't shop accordingly by that. Even with hardware - I most often buy from Indiana, Michigan, and New York. JRR usually only gets me during blowout bargains and MF only on SDOTD.

So yes, I deliberately check who regularly gives me the best deals first.
Or at least compare prices across the board with them before deciding where and if I will buy something.
And I do consider pricing trends also.

It would be foolish not to.

Omnisphere 2 is here! (yes, it's really here!)
