0.9.4 BETA Released
We have recently been doing more work on general tracking, including recognizing bass notes, but its not yet ready to go. So meanwhile we are releasing a minor update or two. Version 0.9.4 is ready for download now. There are no changes in tracking compared to 0.9.3, but many minor bugs have been fixed, compatibility issues with some VST plugins and a few new features including:
* Fixed crash when loading some VST plugins.
* CPU usage meter and warning about lack of CPU power.
* Checking for updates is optional.
* Pitch bend enable/disable parameter.
* AudioUnit MIDI Output support. Not supported in most DAWS.
* Fixed issue with instrument and effect programs not being set correctly when
loading a project.

cooltouch, the server has indeed been down once in a while, because of the amount of traffic we get especially in times of new version updates. We have now beefed up the hosting and it should no longer be a problem. You are right that we are approaching version 1.0, and getting out of BETA. But first 0.9.4 and maybe one more.
ariajazz, the BSOD is almost always a driver- or kernel level problem. In these times applications should not be able to hazard your entire system, only the process they run in. So maybe this has to do with your audio drivers or the way Sonar handle them?
We are aware of the issue that dropdowns can get hidden behind the main window if your DAW puts its plugins always-on-top. Then there is no way that a dropdown window can get on top of it. Usually you can disable this always-on-top option in your DAW. We examine if we can do anything about this on our end.

could you tell us which VST plugins you have addressed, so we can report if there are still problems? Is this process of improving compatability with plugins going to continue?
Cheers

Yep, wake me up when it's properly multi-channel. This ridiculous polyphonic bend on guitar voids the entire point of a MIDI guitar controller. I can just play keyboard.ariajazz wrote:I'll skip this release and wait for the next one with tracking improvements. I hope all the bugs reported will be fix in this one.

Yes, Microtonal support in 0.9.5 BETA. Uploading now.memyselfandus wrote:any word on the scala. file support?
Certainly some older Waves plugins are working now that weren't before and also we had problems with Absynth, possibly other NI instruments that runs fine now. Truth is that we are dependent on some middleware for VST hosting and we merely propagate the updates in the middleware. I under the impression that very few plugins fail now. We can't reproduce the problem with Helix. Runs fine here. Please try and clear the list and scan with 0.9.5. Toontrack fail for some to load samples when changing projects. We are more focused on fixing compatibility issues now than previously, so please let us know if some plugins fail.JJunkie wrote:Hey JamO,JamOrigin wrote:0.9.4 BETA Released

0.9.5 BETA Released
Here is another small update. A clever little MIDI Machine can load Scala files and adds Microtonal support (to get it go into "Create MIDI Machines"). Weird issues with Ableton Live 9 were fixed.
WHATS NEW:
* New "Microtonal" MIDI Machine for playing microtonal music.
* Improved built-in help with index pages.
* Fixed plugin GUI issues in Ableton Live 9.
* Fixed missing warning labels for samplerate and buffer size.
* Fixed a crash bug in MIDI Machine.

We are currently working more on tracking optimisations, multi-channel midi and bass support. We'd also like to get out of BETA to signal that the software is ready for production environments. Getting out of BETA status will not change the pursuit for core technology improvements.
Lastly, just heads up to all of you who have participated in the very early beta phase (a year ago now...wow time flew): We are very thankful for all the testing and of course the free early adapter licenses that were distributed, many on KVR, are going to be valid onwards in version 1.x.. Thank you very much!

Thank you for giving me the chance to help test, Very kind of you to offer the v1.x license. I believe you will continue to improve MG and when required I will for sure be purchasing a license.JamOrigin wrote: Lastly, just heads up to all of you who have participated in the very early beta phase (a year ago now...wow time flew): We are very thankful for all the testing and of course the free early adapter licenses that were distributed, many on KVR, are going to be valid onwards in version 1.x.. I do too appreciate JamOrigin for giving me the chance to be a beta tester since version 0.2. This software has achieved something that no one has done before. I'm sure MG will be improved in future versions and make it a revolutionary product. Thanks again to you guys, it was my pleasure to be part of this project and I hope my modest contribution was helpful in the developement of MG. As always I will be more than glad to colaborate with you guys in the future.
