That explains why a search of my hard drive didn't turn up a manual. The installation of ANA 2 doesn't install the manual. It just leaves it in the zip file. I had to go to my backup drive where I moved the folder to in order to find it.nevis wrote:I had a look into this file I kept: "ANA v2.0.3.zip"
The "ANA 2 Manual.pdf" is on the same level as the "README.txt", before there are different folders for Mac/PC.
It is an ~8 MB PDF file with ~60 pages of manual you are looking for.
Now that I've found it, I won't be bothering anybody anymore with questions about this synth.

Well forgive me if I'm a little cranky this week. One of my friends and my father died this week. So I'm running a little short of gratitude these days.Frantz wrote:You also noticed that wagtunes is long on demands and short on thank yous to anyone who tried to help him.nevis wrote:You are very welcome.

Really, the last thing I even give a flying f**k about this week is trying to figure out how to use these stupid synths. But life has to go on and I've got a business to run so you do what you have to do even if it's the last thing you want to do.
Anyway, thank you to everybody who helped me. Now that I've found the manual, I can read it if I get stuck on anything. That's pretty much what I normally do.
And with that, I've got 10 new synths to program so I won't be around here as much as usual.
I'm sure that's going to make a whole lot of people a whole lot of happy.

Unless there's no manual with one of those synths

Most synths are simple enough that I don't need a manual. The few that I've needed one, they existed. I've yet to be totally left hanging out to dry with any synth I've purchased so far. Of course some manuals are so huge (thank you Steinberg) that you're probably better off just winging it because finding anything in them is next to impossible. But I still manage if I'm totally lost.cb8rwh wrote:Unless there's no manual with one of those synths

Thank you. But like I said, life goes on. I mean it's not like we've got a choice.ZeePok wrote:wagtunes wrote:One of my friends and my father died this week. So I'm running a little short of gratitude these days.

Is there any more news on a preset converter for V1 presets ?
I understand that the presets may sound (potentially very) different in V2 vs V1, but this may actually be a good thing if there's some 'sonic weirdness' to provide yet more inspiration
And by the way, merry Christmas all

Is this a bug or is this just the way it's designed. Simple patch.
One sawtooth oscillator.
Use Moogy LP filter.
Turn filter cutoff all the way down.
Play a key.
Sound still comes through.
It shouldn't.
Any other synth I have, if you turn the filter cutoff all the way down you get no sound.
I'm trying to so a simple pluck sound controlled by the filter envelope but no matter what I do (and I have tried everything) I can't get the filter to completely cut off.
And yes, I have the oscillator going only through filter 1.
I can't believe what I'm hearing.
** EDIT ** Okay, it seems you have to turn the cutoff down for both the filter itself AND the main filter control. I don't understand why that should be necessary. If the filter cutoff on the filter is all the way down to 20 hz, it should be sufficient enough to cut off the sound by itself.
So for every sound we program we need to set BOTH filter controls (individual filter and main filter) in order to get what you should get from just one filter control?
What am I missing here because this doesn't make sense.

Did you tried wanking left/right the big filter knob? It supposed to control both filters (when used) with one knob but I find it’s position affects the total cutoff when not in proper position - I think dead center does not affect anything.
