Sort of. A company can request different "types"/"levels" etc of protection from CodeMeter. Yes, Reason uses 3 types of CodeMeter protection, but that doesn't mean Vengeance is going to use the same 3. So far we only heard of the dongle and the online-24hrs-verification systems. It is not clear if Vengeance is going to offer a 3rd type, similar to Reason, where you go online 1 time and then verify your computer and be able to remain offline from then on.

Only no one said that you can use online activation, or have to be always online, or work with regular log-ins. Again, this is stated by Manuel.

So it is not sure what is going to happen. They only asked us users to have patience.
We just have to wait and see, everything else is speculation.

Btw : It is also stated that they don't know if the Reason Ignition Key is gonna work with Avenger.

Does codemeter require a permanent internet connection or only for activation of the software?

See my post a bit further up. With regards to Reason, there are 3 types. The first you have to log in every time and be online. The second uses a dongle which means you dont have to be online. The third is you go online the first time, authorize your computer and then you can stay offline. It is not clear which ones Vengeance are going to use. Companies can pick different methods from CodeMeter

regarding the dongle: as posted above you can buy it atm in the Propellerheads store. Maybe we got it to be sold or bundled on Sweetwater together with Avenger. We will see.

It would be nice for everyone to buy a key in their own country, as you can easily buy eLicenser or iLok. This is not the software you receive via email.

Another reason to get away from Avenger and vengeance sound. Also, Codemeter is a big NO over here. Anyone wants to swap Hive 2 for Avenger maybe?
