this is going to be quite dumb question because
I'm not a guitarist. I don't know much about guitars.
I want to get an eletric guitar and I'm
curious about PRS ones.
I know they are well made, good brand name
but what about there sort of cheap versions.
the PRS SE soapbar II.
I read a lot of good review for PRS SE soapbar II but
do you think it is suitable for nu-metal music?
and can someone explain what p90 pick is?
I like linkin park and they use PRS custom models.
I can't afford those so next best choice was this
soapbar II.
I had a guitarist room mate so I played with quite good
guitars. I played with 2~3 different Ibanez guitars(including jem)
epiphone, washburn, etc.
I liked ibanez most but I want to get something different for
myself.

i'm no expert 6-string slinger
but the best advice on any instrument is "ignore the label and price and buy the one that feels the best to you"
i once had a toss-up between a beautiful gibson hollowbody electric bass, and a no-name, made by some guy in ottawa, fretless electric bass. everything in my being told me to get the fretless, but the name and the shape and vision of the gibson said get that - they were the same price.
when push came to shove i knew i would play the no-name fretless WAY more, and enjoy it way more, because, even though it had no name on it, it just felt AWESOME in my hands and so fun to play, inspiring me in ways (in the shop anyway) the gibson just didn't do
10 years later it's still my favorite bass
buy the one you'll have the most fun playing, everything else doesn't matter

I bought a PRS SE Santana about two months ago.
It's a no brainer.
An affordable PRS?
I absolutely love it. It's my favourite thing.
The soapbar ones I guess lean towards bluesy sounds more than the shredding capabilities of the humbuckers, but how you play it counts more.
I'm never looking back. I wasn't a PRS fan, and I still think the birdies on the other models look silly, but this guitar is everything I want. But mine has got two humbuckers, so I guess I don't have a proper answers for you either. I've never played a soapbar PRS... They look good though, and I guarantee they're perfectly balanced and crafted - everything just feels right and you know it's quality. And I think it looks awesome, too. And I play more every day as well, which is the only way to get better I suppose.
Guess you can count this as one vote for the PRS - you can always fit a humbucker if you think the soapbars aren't up to the shred level you need...
(I can't resist posting this picture again - we're still in the sweet early stages of our relationship...

I would get a black one, of course, but it doesn't look too bad in red either. What colour is the one you're looking at?
Like the dots. Mine's got inlays, some unsymmetrical slashes... Hm. Like the dots better, tbh.

I agree with Muff Wiggler. You have to go out try some. What one person loves you might hate. Get one that feels good and sounds good unplugged, then plug it and let it rip.
Although I've never owned a PRS I have tried many and for my tastes/needs its not a guitar I would purchase (don't like the necks to be specific). But that's my own personal opinion and you have to judge for yourself.

thanks guys.
I think I better go to the local guitar center.
(haven't been there for long time)
after reading Hovmod's reply I went back and search a little bit
more and found out there is billy martin SE model with humbucking pickups.
that might be better for me.
thanks again guys
