Tap Tempo VST plugin?

Hi all,
I play live using a DJ/dub setup built in audiomulch. As part of that I have delays and other tempo-specific FX running. At present, I am simply playing my music in, and ignoring the master clock tempo, as obviously each track has its own tempo and these vary depending on the set I am playing.
To that end, it would great if I could find a VST that allowed you to tap the tempo to determine the BPM of the song you're playing. That way I could then quickly adjust the master clock tempo and have my FX work in time.
I've seen certain plugins like Lucifer have tap tempo as part of their functionality, but to be honest all I'm after is the tap tempo part. So, I'd rather not pay $66.66 just for that! I've tried searching this site and have also gone through Google, but nothing has come up.
So: could anyone recommend a plugin to assist with this?
many thanks in advance!

if you're just using it for determining the tempo google Analog x they have a freebie thats good, if by chance you use FL right click the coarse tempo window and it has a great tap tempo...if you're looking for software that automatically does beat matching I dont know of any, but I have never looked either so maybe someone else know of something...

Hello!
Jimi Stravinsky has developed a tap tempo prefab in synthedit. It was ready last week. I think it is the first time it has been done. You can read the tempo you tapped from display.
I have optimized it, and made logic for it, so that it switches automatically between slider tempo or tap-tempo when you touch any of the controls. I guess you will see this in synths soon.
It is implemented in MinimogueLUXUS 1.1 that will be released in a week or two. When you use tap-tempo or use slider, the delay sync is also available, so it is also possible to sync delay to tap-tempo in addition to gate/arp.
all the best

Here's a perhaps different take on it.
If you have the freebie Tracktion 1 demo from last year, it will do a match tempo on an audio clip. Just tell it how many bars are represented by the clip, and bang - it will hand you the tempo. Since it's a re-wire host, you could possibly drive Audiomulch with it. If audiomulch isn't re-wire, you still have a way to read tempo direct out of an audio clip - seems ACID, LIVE and FL should be able to do the same.

Thank you all for your input. To be honest it sounds like there isn't this kind of VST out there. From reading all your responses, I would think the simplest solution is the AnalogX one, which I could at least pop up when DJing and use to determine the tempo of the music. OK so its not VST, but its also low CPU load and wouldn't risk anything by way of processor overheads.
I think there's definitely a good argument for having such a VST though; unless you're using Live 5 with its auto-tempo functions that is.
Thanks again for your speedy responses - its much appreciated!

I used to use that a lot, but to be honest I now either cheat and use the master tempo for my delays, or just use my ear with a non tempo-sync'd delay like the Kjaerhus Classic one. When I was using it though, it was one helluva godsend!

You can use Project-X Stereo Delay.
I think tap-tempo also works when the plugin is in bypass mode.

Would be a nice little helper.
