HI

This is how screwed up the Cubase forum is: look out for locked threads, including mine!

You have to register your dongle to the forum for support, I can see why but shit I have been a member for several months and get this!!!

There's no mention of cricket at all. What kind of forum is that?

They simply didn't get one of the main points when discussing the registered forum, which was that they should have created an area for potential customers to ask questions about the product before they purchase, (this is especially important when they don't make a demo version available).

EDIT: I see you filled in the info and they still locked it, they should probably validate it as is entered so the user knows if the information has been accepted at the time. :|

yeah it is shit - I don't own cubase anymore - I gave away my copy of vst to some dude from kvr, but I sometimes work with people who use it, I used to visit the steiny forums regularly but don't much anymore.
They have a tendency to lock or delete threads of people who have a beef with steiny priducts also.
Saw a thread locked recently started by a guy who clearly stated that he was a student using sx at college (so he wouldn't be able to register the dongle) legitimate question - locked because he didn't register the dongle - he couldn't register the dongle though as it was the uni copy, is that a good catch?
I used to ask questions & occasionally answer them there (having a little bit of knowledge on sx) I don't bother anymore, as I have seen threads locked as someone who didn't have a ragistered copy answered a question.
The crack police are all over that place like a plague.

Bollocks. SX is the business! What you using then Fruity Loops?

Saying that though, the support does suck.

As the dude said earlier, I am also using a Uni copy of SX, and therefore, am unable to register for support.

HI

4WIW - they unlocked my post after 4 hours and several EMails ... Shit, I still didn't get an answer!

I just wanted to know if SL was anymore streamlined to use than SX or less cluttered - I had seen a screenshot that indicated an Inspector/mixer panel that looked a lot more usable?

Like your post did just there?

TBH, i think that its a good idea, but really, they shouldve sent out emails, PMs etc, and had a grace period before cracking down on the cracks

The thing that really, but i really find anoying are the mods that only show up to lock some thread, others aside from Tank, C. Dettner and ex-mod Bas, seem sometimes quite obscene and power tripin´, not good for the biz.

No the interface should be similar, unless the fewer insert slots in SL are being interpreted as 'less cluttered' etc. I don't use some of the features such as Fraunhofer MP3 or WMA surround encoding, or the extra plugins (Monologue, Embracer , Tonic etc) much, or the score. However, the configurability of the SX mixer is useful, the inplace editor and the extra fx slots, and if I had spare I/O the external FX would be useful.

As I upgraded from a previous version it was worth the minimal price difference. However, the price difference between the retail versions of SX3/SL3 may not be worth it to many users.
