XP user profiles

You know the user profiles Windows XP lets you set up? I have been creating different ones for how I work on my computer. One for my everyday use, and another for making music. They do not let you set your monitior resolution separately for each profile. You have to change it when you open that profile.

Is there an easy way to do this? I also would not mind customizing what background programs start with each profile. I know about the Start Menu folder, but this does not apply to everything.

I really do not want to mess with the registry and want to know if there is more I can do to create different profiles for working on my computer.

I dont think so unless you can setup driver profiles, I think that Nvidia and ATI allow you to set up profiles that you could switch between more quickly than the display properties applet.
