I am. Death/Black/Classic. Im a singer/guitar player using FL Studio and Sonar. Bass with from samples and Drums form Samples..

Currenlty I'm drooling over BFD for drums and Melodyne for Vocals.

If there are any others, what tools/softs do you use?

I will... some day when I get the sound right. So far my efforts sound very naive & computerish. Possibly because there are no real geetars

I'm a black metal fan. I've done some metalish songs before, but I don't really stick to genres much.
Excuse all the blood.

i make nu-metal. here's a short list of my equipment:
-drumkit from hell 2 (much better than BFD)
-native instruments guitar rig
-fl studio 5
-adobe audition 1.5

few more recomendations:
-if you plan to buy melodyne, buy melodyne uno - it's cheaper and still has the same usefulnes
-use BooBass (FL studios native bass instrument)

I play a lot of neo-classical metal, minus the evil lyrics, even though i'm presently doing an Engya (correct spelling?) type style of music (e.g. www.wordsong.info/bible-songs/matt5_1-12.mp3). Many times i like to vear away from that 80's genre/style and just write "what comes to me".
I also use sonar and flstudio, as well as tons of sample sets and vsts.

Heh, nice answers.

Thanks duke4e for your advise! As always were a minority :) Why DFH2 before BFD? Just sounds or soft also?

Do you have any songs to share?

Nice Metel there also :)

I mostly listen to metal (Opeth, oldschool Metallica, Isis, Agalloch, Katatonia etc.), but play more of a Pink Floydish style of music...the CD I'm working on now is much more of a metal style, but acoustic.

unfortunatly i just started to use drumkit from hell 2, so i don't have any samples, but planning to record a whole album this year.

you can check out the official page for DFH2 http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/det ... sku=PSP-06 also DFH2 is made especially for metal, and was recorded by drummer from Meshuggah

if you want, you can check out my earlyer demo at www.redlaine.tk or you can do a search for "redlaine" at music.download.com
