I know not many folks here dont listen to DnB, but id just like to point something out about the popular "Concord Dawn" here.
Here's and excerpt from Concord dawn's "Gaurdian Angel"
And here's an excerpt from Antonin Dvorak's "largo"
Here's the same sample sped up to key with "Gaurdian Angel"'s
Wow! what a coincidence, eh? Sampling orchestras is one thing (ive done it), but sampling entire phrase that set the basis or background for an entire track is another thing. Especially considering their popularity. Most of their songs contain orchestral samples. It would be interesting to know how many they actually made for themselves.

yea but thats still better than simply copying and pasting a recording of someone else's work right into your song

those are breaks, which are usually rerouted and deeply f**ked with. This here is melody and therefore plagiarism, especially since it was changed very little. I think that the moment it breaks the boundary of rhythm is where the plagiarism starts. I'm also tired of all these "DnB Giants" who do shit like this and get away with. Concord dawn is known for putting great string parts in their songs...ModuLR wrote:how can you get upset about an orchestral phrase, when the entire genre is deeply rooted in sampling.. uhh.. all those breaks!![]()
