I just picked up transmodder, thanks to another forumite and voxengo's outstanding transfer policy. Haven't dug all that deep into it, but deep enough to see it's really not like anything I'm used to working with.
So, well, what do you use it on?

I used it on individual instruments that had some resonance peaks that gave me trouble.
It's a great way to get rid of those peaks without altering the overall sound as with using an EQ.
That's the real power of Transmodder. Also, it is a very transparent and delicate processor without any artifacts that I can hear.
Although I used it mainly to cut transients. I is very good to bost them as well
Hope it helps.

Having had another week or so to play with the transmodder, I'm still not sure I'm getting it.
For instance: Was working on overheads, where the transient from the crash cymbal was a little sharp for me. Normally, I'd think about a compressor with a fast attack to get at this, but I'm trying to get it with the transmodder for more transparency. It seems like I should be able to dial in the TA section so that only the hardest hits trigger the filter, but even with the scale turned all the way down and the sense set at minimum, I'm getting a lot of blue line. This blue line is showing that the TA is triggered, right?
With this setting, and a broad, gentle cut at the 1k - 5k area, it actually sounds pretty good. So maybe I'm not so far off. Maybe I'm still not getting the concept.

Bobby, you are pretty close I guess. 'If it sounds good it is good'.
'A lot of blue line' is good. It can't go over the scale. All you need after this is to set the maximal gain reduction on the filter, and it will be oscillating together with the blue line. Increasing filter decay may be helpful, too, if you do not get enough reduction.

Hey, thanks! I've finally got it thru my thick head: there's no threshold setting. Of course the manual is very clear -- there's no threshold setting -- but I hadn't really grasped how that would play out.
A real interesting plugin. Thanks.
