....a cd full of drum midifiles I bought some time back, and jeez, they are truly the worst I've ever heard. I thought they were crap when I first got them and time hasn't improved that impression. They sound like the session drummer went out for a beer and a burger and let his pet monkey sit in for him while he was gone
The cd is called Dr Feelgood from Big Fish Audio, and part of the license agreement states I'm not allowed to sell, or even give it away. I can understand the no sell-on clause, tho' it's not needed, surley there can't be more fools like me  who have/would buy it. I reckon the ban on giving it away, is to stop me giving it to a friend, who when finding out how p#ss poor the midifiles are, falls out with me big time. It'll be there to save a friendship.

F#cking hell, they are really, 'really' bad..............
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

When did you discover hiding in a drawer the first time around?

I love hiding in a drawer. It's still the last place my partner looks . :ud:

I get a distinct feeling of deja vu about this thread, I'm pretty sure I posted about it a couple of years ago. As for your ?, I think the first time I rediscovered it was just before the first thread. I couldn't bear to throw it away as I'd paid for it, couldn't sell or give it away either, so in the drawer it went. Found it much later, checked it out and posted here about it.

At least you've got room to hide in your drawers, mine are cluttered up with all sorts of long forgotten rubbish that I haven't thrown away for some reason.

If anyone is interested in hearing how poor these midifiles are, pm me and I'll let you have a few to see for yourselves.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

That's funny you mention this. There are a bunch of Big Fish Audio drumloops included with Live 4 and they totally suck ass. :x

My cat can open drawers, and she will steal things from around the house and hide them in drawers. She can also turn on the water tap, and can nearly open a doorknob.

That's a dangerous combination. Be afraid. :scared:

HI

I think it is true to say that 'Shite doesn't mature over time - into something more pleasing to the palette' ....

I base my findings on being the 'other' person who has the Dr Feelgood CD!!!

This collection brings a new meaning to the term 'Rythem beds'!

friends of mine had sister cats who learned
-- to turn the thermostat up on the water bed (they had to tape it down)

-- use the remote control to turn the TV on -- more than once my friends claimed they forgot something walking out the door and return within seconds to find the cats already watching TV

but as far as i know no interest in drawers, taps or doorknobs.

why dont you render out some of those drum loops into a song and let us hear them?

1/ I've nowhere to host such a thing
2/ My musical output isn't that great I can spare the time
3/ I'm willing (and it would be easier) to mail a selection of said midifiles to anyone who asks's, so they can check them for themselves

Hi Flipper,
Glad to know I'm not the only one who bought/wasted money on these :hihi:
The Rhythm Beds section is diabolical isn't it?
I reckon there's a solid case for false advertising
from the cd cover wrote:You won't want to keep this doctor away, and boy has Doctor Feelgood got the prescription for you! Hands down, the most defining MIDI file drum disc ever produced. Over 3500 measures of Rock, Funk, Pp, Shuffle, R&B, Dance and Percussion loops all in standard midi file format. Grooves, intros, fills, endings, percussion beds, everything you need to build songs and nothing but. No filler or wasted space. Just pure usable material. Sound unbeatable? Well it is. There's nothing like it out there, so hurry up and make your appointment with the doctor.
No filler or wasted space??????
The midi files themselves, will fit comfortably on a floppy.

I haven't been able to fit into a drawer for many, many years. But I remember back when I was a kid it was one of my favourite things. These days if I see a drawer open a few inches I know that there will almost certainly be ferrets in the drawer beneath it. Weird, huh?
