I now have a headache from reading Nick Collins website. I just want to know, is this worth learning now that livecut, which seems a lot more practical, is coming out?

I can't even install the program because it seems to be aimed at an audience of people who have brains the size of tiny planets and understand everything before they even think about it. If anyone knows of a good PC version they could send me that would stop smoke coming out my eyes, that would be great. If it's too much effort to even attempt learning I will gracefully give up, but it does sound really quite interesting. Even though I can't even work out what it is.

Is it a plugin, is it standalone, has he taught it to converse fluently in six languages, two of which are from ancient civilisations who attained near utopia? What the hell is it this thing!!??

Thank you

As far as I know, there's only one version for PC:

Not quite as complete as the Mac version, from what I can tell. You need to have Python installed before installing SC.

SC does a lot more than just semi-random cut-ups. If that's all you want it for, I probably wouldn't bother and just go with dedicated apps/plugins for that sort of thing.

There are lots of options for fairly powerful synthesis tools, including graphical ones that are little bit easier to get started with. Maybe you might consider trying Pure Data instead.

Ah, thank you. Sounds like good advice to me. I'll take a look for pure data...
