Here is my first crack at using Philharmonik. I chose the first movement of Ravel's Rapsodie espagnol, performed (played in real time) in Sonar and uses two instances of Philharmonik with the on-board CSReverb. Just wanted to share with you all

Getting "Page Not Found". Anyone else?
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

loogoo you just need to delete the space between Ravel_ and Rapsodie and then the link will work.
Just hit the edit button and you'll be able to go back into your post and change it.
Now for the music.
I actually didn't like the music much, but that is aimed at Mr Ravel not at Mr loogoo.
I'm not sure how much I liked the strings doing the constant downward runs and there were some other times when the strings came in and my mind said "synthy". But when the strings came in a bit grandly here and there they sounded beautiful.
What actually impressed me most in this piece though were the woodwinds. They sounded exquisite at many times during the piece.

I'm not an orchestra expert, but I thought it actually sounded really nice.
It would be so cool to have a Philharmonik demo project for all major sequencers, includingn all the automation and so forth.
Once I got my Philharmonik and have made a first tune that is worthy enough
I'll upload a Cubase project file for all of you.
One can learn so much from each other...

Thanks for the feedback so far. I realize Ravel may not be everyone's cup o' tea, but I thought the atmospheric effects and subtle orchestration would present a good challenge.

I like Ravel (Bolero's great, don't care what anybody says ).
Do you know what Ravel said about it?

I seem to remember it wasn’t very favourable, which is partly why I made the comment.Beardedone wrote:I like Ravel (Bolero's great, don't care what anybody says ).![]()

I’ve seen the piece called things like “classical kitsch” and such but I like it. It’s like a classical “Tubular Bells” – an exercise in how to build an orchestral arrangement with the same tune repeating over and over with different blends of instruments.
The repetition has an almost hypnotic effect – and then of course there’s that crescendo when the trombones come in at full blast. I’ve loved that part since I was a little kid.

IMO this is pretty good, esp the string stuff very nice feel to it, as far as the music itself, it sounds like a nice commercial spooky or horror film soundtrack. however I dont see this being used in the type of music I play which is HipHop,R&B,House, but I do have a good ear for alot of different styles, and this is a very good track, nice work
incredible sounds comming out of that philharmonic.

Thanks again guys. I like all kinds of different styles of music, but my first love is classical (esp. the 20th century stuff), so it's nice to hear favorable comments from people who don't usually do this kind of music.
