Kontakt won't "resave" to any other but the internal format at all (even the full version won't),

VSampler works the same way. I had to modify some of the patches because VSampler didn't import correctly (GSCW kit #2, perf cymbal). The envelopes were too short (a few ms of hold and release) and when I was ready to save, there were only two options: save in VSampler format or export as a soundfont.Sascha Franck wrote:Kontakt won't "resave" to any other but the internal format at all (even the full version won't),
I don't know why but I was persuaded that it was in Kontakt format. Now, I can even use Extreme Sample Converter to convert in other formats, a thing impossible with Kontakt 2 format. The same for VSampler...

Kits like this just don’t turn up free very often – almost hardly ever – once again big thanks to Giro for making these kits available
Thank you to, for the comments on the hosting – its been an honour, not least because of how things have turned out – twitches in making them available on some connections has been possible to track down. Feedback to the artist exists, and growing – the interest in making other formats available, evident.
Its one of those events that indeed, as Sascha says – it makes the internet still a good place to be - thank you all for the way today has turned out
Giro – I think you are at the footing of something quite magnificent here – plus I dig the graphics and presentation on your site too www.gscwdrums.com - the presentation is a key element that sets the whole event off – Excellent
Best regards,
Peter

in the meantime ....
Could someone explain how the bleed from one drum to anothers mic works... so when i hit the snare, i obviously expect leakage in the OV's too... but how is this triggred ? Is the bleed mixed with the snare sample (not good!) ? If not, then am i actually triggereing 7 samples together (for full control, but real resource hungry)...
Also, I was hoping to use this kit for some hard rock, metal. Noticed that we have two toms in all... I am not to experienced, but i presume 3 toms a are often needed to complete heavy metal rolls...
thanks a ton

FWIW, Kontakt 2 won't load this kit properly at all.
I can see some remapping action coming up...

Hi GIRO,
I have just unzipped the download, a great bunch of material there. Could you please confirm for me that the 'Drum Kit 1' contains all the hits that were/are in the older free 'demo' rar you also have on audioshots?

Sorry for my delay... was editing a long video!
Tama+Evans = 80's heheheh! I'm not that old. I'm 34 years old
The Samples were done like this!!
To avoid CUP loss! Each sample is a stereo mixdown of 7 mics..
Not CPU hungry at all
All samples were recorded with lots of velocities.
The Snare drum on kit one has about 20 layers. Even the cymbals are 4 to 8 sample per key!
Tom Toms:
Kit #2 has 3 toms! Listen!

http://home.comcast.net/~gsmedia/combo-colate.mp3
Vienna would have been a good choice for doing a SF2 version but I'm not in the mood for a AUDIGY installed in my DAW....
Most samplers would miss something in the importing part .... Almost 95% of the time you have to edit the import to make it playable..... like mute groups for the hats.. Sorry for that Guys....
Also! if you are getting choked up on polyphony, use the envelope to reduce the time for the cymbals.... Or set the sampler to full poly'.... HALion can play a lot of samples.... Thats why is my favorite!
Cymbal perform.. are in drum mode also...no envelopes, raw play back. You can map those as you like
Disclaimer:
Please note!
This library was done with HALion 2.0.35 You may not experience the full potential of this library with some other formats. Also The user patchs may not reflect the full capacity of this library
Anyways! I'm sure they will ask you for a copy! Just don't sell them..
PS: don't forget to browse around gscw website for info!

I tried the ESC demo to convert to SF2 and it does a pour job.. You have to hold the keys....not good!Patrice Brousseau
