What the subject says (and yes, there was a subject like this in the Instruments forum -- if you've read it already and replied, you can probably move along).
But I thought I'd come to the source and talk to folks who have either product about its particular virtues. I'm having trouble figuring out how many sounds come with each. Obviously XL is the bigger, better product, but I an upgrade to L is more in my price range.
Are upgrades to both available via retailers? Or are some only available through IK?
My thanks,
Brian

XL has more of each category of sounds, which gives you more choice to find the exact sounds that get you going. XL is 8 CDs with sounds (4.5GB), L is 4 CDs. You might think about doing it step by step, if money is an issue. Upgrade from L to XL is about $90 to $100.
Big advantage of XL: If you get it at www.esoundz.com, you are entitled to a free upgrade to the 2.1 soundset, which includes 7 GB of sounds. That means an additional 2.5GB for free!!!

I'd go for XL if I were you. OR you might consider to add in a capsule - I find that the drum capsule and also the groove capsule are excellent value for money.
