My music environment is purely virtual: Cabase SX1, minihost, VSTi

I want to make a song which requires a lot of pitchbending. As I don't have a hardware controller, I need a virtual equivalent. Minihot gives such a possibility, but as far as I know it can only record the audio - MIDI controllers like pitchbend.

As a result with my current knowledge all I can do is play and record live as wav the tune. The problem is twofold:

minihost occasionally chokes thus spoiling the final effect
a say five minute take has to be played without a mistake - with pitchbending it would require many hours of practice - I am not as patient

I would like to
find a tool which sends the pitchbend from minihost to cubase so that the latter could record the movement (I hope it is possible)
or
use in cubase some midi plugin with an interface of pitchbend slider so that I could do the whole operation in cubase: first arrange the notes and then during playback record as MIDI or as vstautomation the pitchbend slider changes, and later edit them in key editor controller lane (unfortunately the instrument - Zero Vector - does not have a pitchbend slider in its interface).

Could you help me? Maybe you have some other idea?

Thanx

Tom
