I've been really getting into the whole "DIY" thing lately. I just finished building and painting this DIY fuzzbox for my buddy Ant Graham:

This was built from the "Tube Sound Fuzz" thing in Craig Anderton's "Electronic Projects For Musicians", and housed in a box from PAIA Electronics. I'll post some MP3s of it in action when I get Ant over here to record!

Thanks, guys! I'm slowly getting back into some basic illustration, and gadgets such as this seem a good canvas. Plus, if my painting sucks, I still get the enjoyment of building a cool DIY doodad...

Dadgummit, I can't see the pics. DNS isn't working here for some reason, and KVR seems to be the only site whose IP address I have cached (how 'bout that?) so: no images. :-(

I have no skill either, vurt. That book and trial and error are the extent of my knowledge. I can read a schematic (thanks to the book) and I can solder reasonably well. I am just getting into making my own circuit boards, but you really don't need to. There are lots of places that sell pre-printed boards (that's what this one was).

I didn't take a pic of the inside...there are seriously not more than two dozen components. It was really simple.

Tonight I am finishing up a two-channel comprssor, though it is in a single rackspace, with little room for tarting up.

Looks great Scot! The picture is so cool the way if fits with the knobs. Looking forward to hear some mp3s of that. I've been already tempted by a few DIY like that also but never got down to actually doing just yet.

Muffit! No...LOL. My kid has a gas mask hanging on his wall that I looked at...

Thanks, paradiddle! I am spending way too much time with this DIY stuff lately. It really is worth it. You can take any kit or schematic and make it your own with a little rearranging of component values and replacing mediocre components.
