Allllrighty folks...here's the deals.......I was approached a little while back by a VSTi developer about doing presets for his line of synthesizers, as he hoped it might jumpstart his sales a bit.....of course i agreed...however, after he sent me the synths, i opened them all up to find the reason they weren't selling.....not that the presets they had helped :hihi: ...but the main reason was that the GUI's were spread over multiple pages and all of them were...to be nice....just not "sellable"....so much so that i couldn't even do presets for them because the GUI's were so confusing. So, I offered to seek out some GUI guys and help with compensating them. So how can you get involved.....well, there are quite a few synths...6 of them to be exact....and i want each one to have it's own character....SO, here's the offer......

I need 6 Different GUI Designers....You will possibly need a rough knowledge of GUI design within synthedit...as all of the synths (no i'm not saying which dev publicly) are synthedit based....also, the graphix can be rack/metallic looking....or cartoonish and software looking...choice is yours, as long as they look good. You will have all the time you need to complete the assignment. So now, how will you be compensated for your work???
Neither the dev, nor myself, has much money these days...so we can't pay you cash....However, ALL 6 GUI designers that join this project (1 per synth) will get a full user license to any of the synths from the developer we're doing this project for....and, as an added payment, you will all recieve (if you don't already have it) a Pro-Sounds Product of your choice free of charge. Hopefully, that will be enough to "pay" each of you that participate.

EDIT:::

So...........right now, as of Sept 23rd 2005, we've got 3 spots for GUI designers that need to be filled......anybody want one?

End Of EDIT::::

please post all responses here...i will change the header of the thread when the positions have been filled.

thank you all!

peace!

Yeah I guess I could give it a try.

I'd be interested, too :D

Nice! You guys don't even need to apply....I've seen your work...and am a big fan of all of it. And you both definitely have completely different personalities when it comes to GUI design, so this is good. You're both hired! Alright, i'll pm you both with the details....just let me go put in my eye drops (i've got conjunctivitis) and have a smoke first.

peace! :D

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot either. Is there still space left?

Post

Yes...so far i've got Nbeat and Multree...(sorry mully, still have to PM you. ;) ) So we've still got 3 more spots....i'll PM you with the details zerocreep...

peace!

Would be fine with me......do you have any previous GUI design work you could demo to the dev?

I might be interested depending on the amount of work required. For examples of older work, check my webpage for x3nogate which was developed with Spoonboiler/Z3ROTONIN who created the modular section of the Arppe 2600va. I also worked on the Prodyon Agonyx (I designed the controls but not the background).

There's also some stuff you won't find but I can supply examples of; I did some stuff for Falkelab but he used nbeat's designs ahead of mine (because nbeat's retro design was more in line with Falke's ideas than my "groovebox" designs) and I did some stuff for EVL but he didn't use my designs in the end because he stopped working under that name (he's now ASC).

My current work is much better, if I do say so myself! If you'd like proof just PM me and I'll give you some other examples (I'm trying to keep my new stuff under wraps until it's launched, so I'd rather not post pics here! ;) ).

I develop SE stuff myself so I'm good on that side too, I completely redesigned X3nogate from Spoonboiler's large paged panel design down to a single 640x480 page and included even more modulation possibilities at the same time. :)

Could it really be that he had us skinning for him in parallel ? :o

[off topic(sorry)]
btw. Have you heard from him lately ?
His website hasn't been updated for quite some time now.
I fear the worst. :scared:

I would maybe have joined, if I knew what kind of proffesional product one get payed with, and if I had any experience in skinning Synthedit plugs. But It also seems I am too late.

I would like to help!
I'm a pupil, so i got a lot of time! I'm very new to 3d design, but i got some nice resoults already from my blender3d experiments. i'm very happy with my very first completely selfmade texture(gimp was my tool) :P , and its of course fully funcionable. its for a Synthmaker synth i'm working on(i'm mostly working on the GUI). I spent two days and a couple of hours with it, and i'm really surprised with the quality! I'm a noob, it should be better on my next project. Let me know if you like it.

edit: i upped the VST GuiDemo.dll. The knobs got 128 frames, so they are a bit heavy and may run slow on some systems, also the pitch wheel doe not react yet :( .seems to be a synthmaker problem. To download the VSTi click on the image.
