i have [b]fruity loops 5[/b] and i noticed that in the browser theres somthing called [b]"humanize presets"[/b]
i dont understand whats that for? does anyone know and if so how do i use it?

For changing the timing and velocity of notes in a track. Actually, maybe just velocity. Not sure. But basically making each note less alike (i.e. more human playing like).

I think it was a great name. Furthermore, I think that the way they caved in to the cereal company represents another defeat in the war between corporations and consumers.

I believe he is talking about FL Studio 5. Humanize presets when applied to a channel can make it sound less mechanical and hence more "human".
Using the browser, navigate to humanizing presets, drill down until you get to "Grooves". Under grooves, click on late snare and drag it over the snare channel and release.
When you now play the snare channel it will sound slightly late.
Experiment, play....

I guess it is just for simplicity. Rather than mucking about in the piano roll you can just apply one of the humanising presets and there might just be the feel you are looking for. Personally I am so lazy at programming I definately use them. I especially like the level humanising presets. Glad I could help.
