Gotta say, as big a fan of Kate as I am, King Of The Mountain isn't that good :( I posted on another thread here, that, imo, it sounds like an out take from Red Shoes. Several listens later, I still think the same, there's nothing new about it, it's just ok.
Hope Aerial isn't going to disappoint as much.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

I'm a big fan too but I have to say I think she peaked with The Sensual World - nothing she has done since has interested me which is a pity - I'd like to be able to say otherwise.

Same goes for my all time favourite Joni Mitchell post Mingus mind you

Even Bjork seems to have lost a certain something recently

- I suppose everyone has peaks and troughs, maybe they'll pick up again.

I have all her albums, but thought the second half of Hounds of Love (The Ninth Wave) was her most innovative work. I wonder that we don't have such high expectations of favorite artists that we are almost asking to be disappointed sometimes.

I agree. And I won't wear it. In fact, even if 'Aerial' turns out to be a mediocre work, well, mediocre by Kate's standards, is STILL a lot more refreshing and interesting than most of the stuff around at the moment.

Don't believe the hype. For me, that voice is all it takes.

I agree - but Hounds of Love came out before The Sensual world.

Dang, I thought this was going to be one of G.W's daughters breaking into the scene with a stunning CD, sex tape, and reality show package.

May this new album be everything but the red shoes part II. The single is worrying...

Well it is a double album so I hardly think one track out of some 36 songs is enough to even remotely judge the album by IMHO.

i liked kate bush best when she was used by the orb:)

I dunno. Hounds of Love was a masterpiece, I must have listened to it hundreds of times, and bought her whole back-catalog, some of which I listend to dozens of times. I listened to The Sensual World a few times. I played The Red Shoes exactly once. Maybe this is where the function converges to zero. I think I'm going to wait until I hear something good from it.

C'mon Vurt, that drawing was almost certainly done by her grand-daughter! :P

AFAIK, one CD consists of a 30 min piece and the other tunes are on the other CD, so its more like that Goldie album, Saturnz Return
