Go to the Free Downloads page. Stand Alones are in the right hand column.SFA wrote:Ohm Force used to offer unrestricted standalone versions of their effects, but their site seems to make no mention of this anymore. So, question #1... are they still unrestricted or do they now include the same noise as the VST versions?
Sorry if these are dumb questions.
They don't have any noise bursts, that's the demo versions.

Thanks for answering my first question! I forgot to mention that I was talking about the standalone versions on the Free Downloads page.
So does anyone know how I can record the output from these, maybe into Goldwave or Tracktion 1? Is there an audio router that I can get? Toby Bear has some kind of mixer on his site, would this do it? Thanx for your help!

if you need to record the output, then you should be buying the VST plugins... the idea of the standalone version is to let you play around with the features of the plugins, but if you want to use them in a track you should be buying the VST plugin versions...SFA wrote:Thanks for answering my first question! The Ohm Force website used to say something like "There is a way to record the output of the standalones but we'll leave it to you to figure that one out".
I sometimes use demo synths with noise bursts in my mix. I record in 15 second sections. Perhaps you'd like to preach to me about the evils of this as well!
I'm a forklift driver for a company that hires 90% illegal aliens, thus I'm paid like an illegal alien, about $5 hr less than the median income for drivers in my area. So I can't just buy whatever I want. So I use a lot of freeware and demos (not cracks).

Most (decent) audio interfaces can route any of its outputs to any of its inputs and record the signal. Check yours.SFA wrote: So does anyone know how I can record the output from these, maybe into Goldwave or Tracktion 1? Is there an audio router that I can get? fair enough, but you might be better off just sticking to a freeware setup so you don't offend developers by using their demos in your productions. if you need a heads up on any decent freeware just ask around..SFA wrote: I sometimes use demo synths with noise bursts in my mix. We wouldn't be offeded. Actually to have someone who prefers to deal with the difficulty of the standalon rather than installing a crack disserves a lot of respect!
Yes, the trix is about recording the output of it - and then probably use your sequencer to mix the samples with your tracks. You're 100% legit to do so. Free standalones are really what they're supposed to be : *free* standalones....

You can record the output with the virtual audio cable. http://www.ntonyx.com/vac.htm

Oh well, as Red_Force is OK with it...there's always the obvious way; record out into a standalone recorder such as an HD multitrack or CD recorder/minidisc and then feed that back into your host.
