Hi,

I am looking for a freeware program to slice samples.

IE I have a 3 minute sample and want to cut it up to whole bars or measures based on a bpm of 160.

Thanks. God Bless.

Aaron.

Is it that you dont know the name of it or you dont want to tell?
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

Hi,

That program simply does not work. It's for creating loops not cutting up a loop into 32 pieces that are all the same.

I couldn't even get the program to work in orion platinum. (It loaded would not play with mono wav file).

There also is no export feature.

Anyone have anything else that might work?

Thanks. God Bless.

The demo of Dicer by concrete FX is almost completely functional (I think there are a couple of parameters that won't save). If you like it, I think it only costs ~20 for the whole thing.

Hi Aaron,

There are some limitations, to do with what type of file you can load - it's a pretty new plug.

Anyway, I haven't tried it yet - was just suggesting.

Hi boogooloo1,

NP thanks for suggesting.

So far I found these on other threads but they don't look like they export is that correct?

First off, I don't think any slicer will work on a 3 minute clip. Including Recycle.

Assuming you meant 3 second sample, perhaps take a look at FreeDice by ConcreteFX I am unsure if this will do what you seek but it is free so can't hurt to try right? ;)

Find it here:

Edit, seems you want something that will export all of your slices separately right? In this case might be more likely to find in a sample editor.

not freeware, but the closest to it, that I can think of, is wavesurgeon.

wavesurgeon - I think will do exactly what I wanted.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Thanks! I've been looking for an loop-slicing alternative to the expensive Recycle that I could use with my Emu ESI-2000 and Akai S2800 samplers. WaveSurgeon looks just perfect.

Hi,

Wavesurgeon. The only problem is it doesn't do exactly what I wanted there is no way to define bpm(exactly). I can't trim to whole bars or measures. (unless I am reading it wrong). Also I can't export to wav files easily like export all slices with one click of a button and have it rename each slice as 01,02 etc.

Thanks. God Bless.

Aaron.
