Hello
I'm looking for a freeware audio editor, able to open a video file (avi or mpeg or Divx), in order to manipulate its audio part (fade in/out, volume modification, etc. and, that would be the top, applying effects on it).
I do not think audacity or krystal does this...
WOuld you know any ?
thank you.

You can do it with an old free version of Vegas :
http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/c ... eole30.exe
All you need is an Internet connection to obtain a code during install.
The features are limited, but very good for your need.

oh !
yeah !
thank you very much, i was expecting so much a free version of Vegas !
It is the software which seems to fullfill my needs, and the sony website doesn't give any light & free version anymore !
thank you !
Is it possible to synchronize audio & video (at least 1 video or 2, and 2 audio : one live-recorded talking + 1 audio file as background music) like in Acid or more recent versions of Vegas ?
Is there any "feature list" available on the web ?

acousmod, I downloaded the file, and had an answer about the features of that version.
But this seem to be demo only, and saving is disabled.
When i installed it, it never claimed for any registration code, but now, it asks me to regsiter (not free !) to upgrade and be able to save my project...
How do you unlock it to limited but free version ?

mmh
winamp bridge... i didn't know thais one. Great idea androidlove.
but it seems a little too hard for what i have to do (it is for some kind of an initiation in video montage. I have a good video editor, but it can not synchronize audioi very well, nor record audio speaking...).

It is strange, it seems that they have put the full 3.0 version at the place of the 3.0LE...I downloaded the file, and had an answer about the features of that version.

I use it in schools and there is no problem with the registration process with the LE version.
PM me and I will send you a link to download it.

There are a fair few programs listed as non-linear video editors on Sourceforge that are Win32 compatable. maybe try one or two of them out if any sound like they might fulfill your requirements.
http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trov ... iscrim=435
One of the biggest problems I've found with a lot of Video Editors is that they only give audio editing options with a resolution of a single frame, and this even goes for Avid Media Composer up until just a few years ago.
From my own quick searching ExyMen seems the best bet: http://www.exymen.org/

Thanks to everyone
I think the real thing I would need is Vegas Video, even in its lightest version, but the Light Edition (restricted but free) which was given by Sonic FOundry seem no more available since it is Sony now... (the registration process does not work anymore).
I think i will still use MovieXone, even if it can't edit audio files...
