why? it's old tech and it won't be able to handle any new audioformats..why shell out on a expensive DSP card that is basically designed to be used with technology that is on the way out...there's no resell or future value in this thing..there is native software that is equally efficient for the purose..it's all a big hoax using DSP cards to give a better sound.

still, it's not real units is it? it's still digital audio that won't make your audio shine like analog gear does..it's all marketing hype...untill you actually record your audio in resolutions above 200khz, all of the numbercrunchin is pointless...it's currently old tech in a new suit.

.. snooky, i am just very happy having the card and these plugins. i make a lot of use of them, and know absolutely why i do so. (as do many others).
you just dont seem to like the way they sound, and thats okay ..

yeah, putte is the last cry of all things in digital audio...I'm just so baffled over the complete arrogance about this..it's like a widespread PT mentality "oh, this plug is super expensive, therefore it HAS to be good!" sheesh...I know that the plugs sound marvelous, but htey are far from the final step in DSP technology...there ARE native alternatives, one doesn't have to have a dsp card to make recordings that sound equally as good as stuff recorded on hardware.

It's a Myth.

UAD is amazing.
There is really nothing that comes close in native formats.
And even if there was it's still a great value and NO HIT ON THE CPU!

.. to me the uad-1 plugins are plugins coming for 149$ each, and they can be used in my host. i like them cause they sound superb. thats all what counts for me (and others loving their uad-1 plugins), and therefor no myth at all.
