Fudged together audio system???

Hey, okay i normally play my guitar threw my PC's soundcard threw some VST's and stuff and then out to my simple speaker setup (speakers are nice for a PC though they sound good) im not a very rich fella lol so i make due with what i got ya know. well i had kind of a idea cleaning out my closet today i found an old sub woofer for some PC speakers and it still worked and all, so i decided to try to wire some old TV surround sound speakers to an RCA jack so that i can hook them up just as PC speakers and plug it in threw this sub so that it amplifies them and i can control the volume and such. i hooked those suckers up and man i think it sounds freakin awesome. for my guitar its like the perfect mix of the bass and trebles, with my normal PC speakers the bass sub kicks a bit to much for a guitar and i didnt like it. these seem to work good however. so anyway i was wondering if anyone else has fudged together strange audio systems or anything that they use? just kind of bored and thought id see what other people have come up with.
