When I do my audiomixdown in Cubase VST 5.1 I get crackles in the sound. It sounds just as if I were to have latency problems, however I do not have it when I use cubase normally. I only have midi tracks (VST plugins) and use a recent bought EMU 1820 card. I use a few of the onboards DSB effects, and as I have understood (since using VST5.1) I must use the e-delay compensator - I think the problem is here, however I have not yet been able to find any manual on how to use the e-delay compensator. Should I use it as an insert in the insert chain in the channels which I do use emu's dsp-effects? or should they be in the channels which I don't use dsp effects(to compensate...?). And further: I can choose from a number of 1 to 10 in the compensation, what are rule of thumb on which number to choose.

cheers
