For cab impulses and for high gain https://bogrendigital.com/ Any metal head musician knows who this guy is or should know. And all impulses are from real sessions. It's only 27 of them but a few lesser and from a wellknown pro who knows his stuff is better than 1000 of all mediocre impulses from others. You find more clips from users on YT too.

Some ugly People rant me "Lucky Bastard". There´s probably more to find, I´ll keep on digging - after I have abused my new AA Ebony [...] to Satisfaction ;-)

I just stumbled across WilkinsonAudio and they've got a great bunch of free cabinet IRs on this page

I have a general question for whoever. No doubt there is some awesome stuff in this thread, but why are 99% of the websites that you can get impulse responses from kind of random, like blog posts or personal websites? Is there a large "pro" marketplace for high quality impulse responses, like a Plugin Alliance or Plugin Boutique for impulse responses? Personally I would be happy to pay something for the impulse responses if there were an established place to go that did some basic quality control, instead of a million tiny websites.

I sort of like it the way it is with a DIY ethos. You might spend some time nosing around on gumroad. That is about the closest to what you are talking about. I've bought some IRs from PastToFutureReverbs and appears there are a variety of other IR vendors set up shop there.

http://signaltonoize.com/ (pay what you want)
https://gumroad.com/pasttofuturesamples (10-15$)
https://www.xtreme-samples.net/impulse- ... aries.html (too much for real Money)

IRs open up a completely new Variety of Options. They also let you get an Impression of the Gear and maybe also new Types/Qualities of Reverbation. My Library is for sure bigger than what you can download for free - but playing around with the free ones is a) interesting and b) purposeful. You´ll know better what you want.

I would never have considered the EMT 140 Plate. I liked the IRs and lately got AA Ebony because I simply love it. Similar Case with the Lexicon 480.

And IRs are not just for Replications. Be creative - and learn from other Creatives. Try airwindows IRs. ilike!

Thanks so much for the shout out! :tu:

That is exactly the philosophy behind the IR pack. Instead of having every possible mic angle, we decided to create the IR's based on real-world sessions and make sure they fit in a dense metal mix. We have audio examples on the website where real amps have been replaced with sims and IR's.

I'll be happy to talk about the details if you have any questions. Take care!

Releasing now is the Dr Bonkers Guitar Cab-Oddities™ Volume 21: BOGN 4X12 Guitar Cab IR Collection based upon a 2008 Bogner Amplification® Uberkab 412STU™ 210w Straight 4X12 Guitar Amp Cab. This cabinet included the 2 Celestion® Vintage 30™ (G12-V30™) 30w 8ohm 12 inch (TR & BL positions) and Celestion® G12-T75™ 75w 8ohm 12 inch (TL & BR positions) speakers manufactured in Ipswitch, England. This is the pre-2009 version, in which the cab is factory wired to 8 ohms with the speakers rear mounted to the baffle board. The tonally balanced cabinet loves clean tones as well as distortion drive. Available in Fractal Audio file and various WAV file formats.

As usual there are sound clips and pictures on my site. Click on the pull down menus and pop out tabs (words with a grey background) for lots of info including history and famous players who used such a cab. If English is not your first language, click on the translate button at the top of my site for many language options.

Brilliant...thanks.
I have most of those, but couldn't get hold of the Quantec room impulses, which I think are my favourite of all...just lush and so useable even at high settings. Thanks again. :tu:
