Wasn't there a free reverb ir of taj mahal? All I can find now are for sale. I decided to time stretch one of the teufelberg(sp?) ones and the results were pretty good.

How can I put a IR in my daw? I'm trying to use a Reverb IR (not a guitar/bass cab)

You need a plug-in to load the IR in. Some are simple, like MConvolutionEZ, and some are complex, like LiquidSonics Reverberate 3.

Fwiw, there's another free IR loader plugin called Convology XT from Impulse Record:
https://impulserecord.com/convology-xt/
Comes with some IRs but allows you to load your own IRs, too. Needs quite a powerful computer for low latency performance, but hey, it's free.

A second for Convology here. Actually quite fully featured but nicely laid out so it isn't at all complicated to use. You can simply load IRs and off you go, but if you want extra features, they're there and easy to access.

"How can I put a IR in my daw? I'm trying to use a Reverb IR (not a guitar/bass cab)"
Just load up Convology (or whatever plugin) and then you need to put all your reverb IRs in one folder (well, you don't have to but it's easier that way - you can put them in subfolders so they're categorised if you want). I found Cubase Artist 10.5 was a little bit funny about where I put the IR folder - when I put them inside the Convology plugin folder it had difficulty loading them, whereas that worked OK in the past (had the same thing with ABL3 presets too... :? ). I put my IRs in a folder on the desktop for convenience. When you open up Convology as an FX simply use their browser to load your own IRs into it and off you go. There will be latency, but most DAWs should automatically compensate for that nowadays.

Convology lets you add in a predelay, Eq, boost levels, reverse the IRs...all the usual stuff. Can't remember off the top of my head, but I think there might even be a chorus type mod for the reverb. Convology seem to make their money more from selling IRs - and they do have a nice collection of them. But you can still find very good freebies too - EMT plates, all manner of Lexicons aren't difficult to find. Just trawl through this thread. :)

Fwiw, the best way to aquire interesting, new (and maybe even "fresh") IRs is to roll your own. Anybody with a DAW at hand (likely 100% of folks reading here) can do it. If anyone is interested, I could come up with a few examples and some ideas.

---

The Audio Spatialisation for Headphones Impulse Response Dataset (ASH IR Dataset) is a set of impulse responses that can be used for binaural synthesis of spatial audio systems on headphones. It includes binaural room impulse responses (BRIRs), headphone compensation filters (HpCFs) and configuration files for Equalizer APO. The dataset can be used to create virtual surround sound on headphones by convolving an audio stream with a set of BRIRs.

The dataset contains:

A set of equalised binaural room impulse responses that can be used to simulate a variety of rooms including control rooms, listening rooms, seminar rooms, studios, and more

A set of compensation filters that can be used to equalise a wide range of headphones to the diffuse-field target frequency response

A set of configuration files for Equalizer APO that can be used to simulate common speaker configurations (Stereo, 5.1 surround, 7.1 surround) within the rooms

More information can be found at https://github.com/ShanonPearce/ASH-IR-Dataset
Thanks for sharing this.

Has anyone tried the IRs for headphone correction?
