DS-404 & Makingwave Pro "DS-404 Repetedly Resets to

Host: Makingwaves Pro w/ VSTi support

Problem:

While most plugin's I've tried work fine w/ Makingwaves Pro, I've run into a problem when I try to use the DS-404 as follows: with the DS-404 up and runing on the host, I hear a note played about every 1 second as if to tell me "here's what you sample sounds like". I can use the function keys to load samples and I can adjust the master volume, too. BUT any change I make to any other button ro dial will automatically reset to the defaul postition the next time that repetative note is played.

FYI: I've found no indication that the problem is from the Makingwave Pro host as this doesn't happen on any other VSTi plugin I've tried.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have you asked in the CM studio forum? They should be able to help you.

Yes I did post this questioin on the CM site; but the CM forum recommends this site for DS-404 issues...Figured "what could it hurt?"

Ok. I just thought they should be able to give you an answer. They are the ones who released it. But with the wealth of knowledge on KvR, you should be able to get an answer

What you describe is, without doubt, a host problem. DS404 doesn't play any sounds unless it is told to do so by the host over MIDI. Contacting your host developer would be a good idea as its a new one on us. Maybe, you could check metronome settings perhaps to see if this is the culprit.

As for knobs resetting to their default values, perhaps the host is sending a Program Change message. You might want to look up "Advanced Patch Management System" in the manual if you need to know more.
