hi,
I noticed today that I'm missing a collection of good quality natural FX samples in my sound-folder. Can someone give me a hint where I can collect free samples with a decent quality? I prefer short percussion-like noises i.e. foot-steps...

bye
Chris

Hi Chris :)

lots of links to free sound FX sites here

http://www.stonewashed.net/sfx.html
I took a sawtooth wave off this Pantomime4, looped it back, mixed it with the sound of this crab committing suicide and let it stew in its own reverb for about 3 hours, then I pumped it all out through this shoe to give it that oak'y timbre.

Thanks solstice,

but they all seem to be lofi. Really ugly :(. Not suitable for making music...

Have you checked out the SFX sections of my links thread at http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38291 ?
There's some good stuff there if you dig, but generally free online SFX are not as good quality as, for example, free online beats....

Make sure you stop by FindSounds - an excellent SFX search engine. You can specify the bitrate, sample rate, file size and file type and avoid the cruddy 8 bit SFX samples that you can't use. Here's the link:

Thanks,

I think I will use www.findsounds.com for collecting.

Some good ones too in the free BBC SFX library (synth fx).
