[A quick preface: When I've tried Cakewalk stuff I've never really it. That said...]

I was taking a quick look at the Project 5 description page after someone at KVR mentioned V2 adapting some Ableton Live features. I guess they call it their "Groove Matrix". What I saw looked like a GREAT feature/solution for XT's Live mode:
I'm assuming that the bank of patterns can be triggered by midi, will loop, trigger whole "scenes" at once, and can be dragged into the arrangement. I'm kind of blown away by the simplicity of it! What an elegant way of accessing patterns! I mean I guess it's not that different than Live's way, but still, seeing here makes me think it could be adapted to XT very nicely!

Anyone here tried it? Jorgen?

I haven't tried it.
It would be great to have something like that for EnergyXT.
I use the Live mode for composing - especially if I'm doing something more dance oriented.

So I'm sorta mixing and matching live until I get an idea of what I want.

Problem is - that I tend to get a little sloppy when working in Live mode - possibly because it's a bit too flexible. I tend to build up several variation parts in one Arrangement Variation and use the fact that I can trigger tracks separately to my advantage (which actually makes quite a bit of sense considering what I'm doing. However, when I want to then arrange what I've come up with it's a total pain in the arse. This is where I start finding EnergyXT's lack of fluidity a bit frustrating.

I can't drag and drop anything, navigating through arrangement variations feel prehistoric, using multi to arrange is fiddly and lacks usability, copying midi parts from one arrangement or variation to another is painful.

Something needs to be done about all of this I think.

The idea behind P5 is great but in typical Cakewalk fasion, things seem to be less inuitive than they need to be. I say take the P5 concept and simplify it to go with the flow of Ext.

About Live mode I have one big thing thats make me mad bout it. Live mode window its realy big to my 15"LCD. When I have opened main mixer in Live mode, the sequencing part of sequencer is realy small.

Jorgen please make option to hide left side of sequencer where you set up a triggers. When you set up triggers you dont care about them.

Or maybe just option to move borderline between trigger window and sequencing window.
