Sadly, for those who haven't heard, Ian Mold, the developer of the Guitar Synth polyphonic audio>MIDI program, died recently.

His loss means that there is no longer a developer for Guitar Synth, as he was pretty much a one-man band. One of the improvements he was working on was a version that used ASIO drivers (he'd already come a long way in squeezing performance and lower latency out of other drivers), and there's a distinct possibility that a beta version with this feature may appear for testing in due course.

His family are inviting registered users to collaborate in taking Guitar Synth forward. Unfortunately, I have no programming skills to offer such a project, and I assume that will be the case for quite a few of the registered users, though I've offered to be a beta tester.

I post this here since I know many developers visit this site, and who knows, someone may be interested in offering their expertise in some capacity. Although the family have only contacted registered users so far, I doubt that any realistic offer of help would be turned away.

Thanks, I'd missed that thread (Guitar Synth didn't seem to fit into the upper forum categories).

I'll repost my comments above in the original thread and see what happens.
