Release 1.40 available now. Runs fine with multiple instances at Quality 5 in FL 5, Audition, T2, Sonar 5, Live, Cubase SL, (Nuendo? SX?).

Here is a view of a 1 kHz test tone at -0.5 dBFS into a Quality 5 Phase-Linear BPF, Q = 20. The spurs on either side are the expected IMD products. The spectral resolution shown here is about 0.73 Hz, and the spurs are spaced at 46.875 Hz. The highest ones are at -93.5 dBFS. (You won't be able to hear them because of loudness masking...)

What's the difference between PLParEQ4 and PLParEQ? There's 3 of them in PLParEQ1 archive.

Not better :-(
Every time the same problem: Inserting one of the plugs and you can see plugs are in bypass-modus. This is not changeable.

Where are you going for PLPara4 version 1.4? I went here:

yesterday and the day before and kept getting version 1.23. Unless I'm having a nervous breakdown or something. I keep putting them in new folders, though. I'm at work so I can't try yet, but let me know if there is a different location or if there was an issue that's been resolved.

Version 1.41 adds a simple graph of the filter characteristics to PLParEQ1. Now that we can see clearly what happens when switching to phase-linear mode, I adjusted the Q's of all the filters in that mode to make the filters roughly correspond in peak amplitude to their phase-warped cousins.

To do this, the LPF and HPF have the Sqrt(Q), BPF has Q/2, BRF has 2*Q, shelving filters have Q^0.85, and peaking/dipping filters leave the Q alone.

All of them cut the dB Gain in half when switching to phase-linear mode, so that you don't get blown out of your seat. Remember, phase-linear runs the signal through each filter twice -- once in the forward time direction, and again in the time-reversed direction. The dB Gain gets doubled that way.

I'm a little confused, now, on the versions. What version is PLPara 4 up to now?

Looks like we may have it solved. I was keeping old versions in my plugins folder and the host kept coming back to only one of them as opposed to finding the newer ones.

PLParEQ1 and PLParEQ4 version 1.42 -- adds Cambridge Type 1, 2, and 3 to the Peaking EQ. You can read about these here, if you don't already know about them....

I think that about does it for this freebie...

Cheers everybody! Thanks a bunch for all your support!

Many thanks for an excellent EQ. I wish you and your business all the best.

Ahem... yes, well, adding the Cambridge modes broke the phase-linear mode. Version 1.43 fixes that. It also color codes the graph as Red for Phase-Warping, Blue for Phase-Linear. And an All-Pass filter was added as the phase-warping version of the bypass filter (-------). Phase-linear bypass filter is a true bypass filtering -- phase linear, no filtering, but throughput delay is maintained.

Damnit! Version 1.43 accidentally left my testing hooks installed - filters only the left channel so I can run transfer functions on the output by cross-correlating against input pink noise signals...

Anyway version 1.44 now has everything back to normal. Sheesh!!
