A comment period for fair use under the DMCA as now written into law is starting on November 2 at

Anyone who believes it's time to take back fair use should be commenting to the U.S. Patent Office. The media companies and large software publishers bought and paid for the DMCA, and it needs to be rolled back so that fair use are part of the future of digital content and software. This comment period is specifically for exempting certain classes of works from the prohibition against circumvention of technological measures that control access to copyrighted works.
