last week I read the review of the new depeche mode album on rollingstone.com. It was a mediocre review at best. they did mention some high points, but on the whole it was luke warm and got 2.5 stars.

Today I go out there, and see the same album got a "no stars" rating and the review was revised to say

From the sing-along "John The Revelator" to the beautiful "Precious," these are stadium songs, clarion calls to their fans. DM are back, and they're better than ever.
That may as well be a marketing blurb from the label. It sure sounds like it to me. I guess Rolling stone let advertising $ take over there.

I know its to be expected really, and I dont really care all that much. Its just sad to see really.

OMFG....you actually admit to visiting rollingstone.com????
Would you really expect something else from them?

I figgered I would get a response like this.

trust me this isnt all that mind boggling to me- I was more surprised by how ballsy they were than the actual act of changing the review.

My question is why even give it a shitty review in the first place? just give the sugar coated crap review from the start and avoid the extra effort.

Oh yeah? Well I figured that you would figure that! I've all ready figured out what you're going to figure next. So don't even bother. :box:

You should email RS about it and then post their response here.

But he said that he already figured what you are going to figure next. So I figure that he already figured out the fact that he has already figured out what you have figured out and what you will be figuring out next.

Does anyone actually buy albums based on music reviews? In Rolling Stone especially?

Really? I was just throwing out an arbitrary year. What year did 'High Times' go down the shitter?
