Stereo widening effect with PLParEQ

I've downloaded the PLParEQ and it is excellent as noted elsewhere in these forums.

I'm curious if anyone else has noticed the 'widening' effect when using this plug. I'm finding (particularly with harmonically rich sources) the stereo spread seems to widen slightly and the source appears to come slightly forward in the depth of field.

If you put a snare dead center for example, activate PLParEQ, this phenomena appears (independantly of the EQ settings).

Not an unpleasant sound by any means, but not effective if you want a super tight, focused sound.
Great on things like vocals or program material though...
