Welcome to KVR.

Second the Voxengo bundle. iZotope Ozone is another popular one. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/

You may also want to look at some of the DigitalFishPhones plugs. Not exactly something you'd go out and buy (since they are free), but they are excellent to help with mastering, especially for those on a tight budget.

You should also consider the one coming with Tracktion2 :acumalab Finalmix. Definitively good. Cheaper than Waves.
Digitafishphones are good too, but in my opinion not really for a transparent mastering. Should use it for mixdown.

I also highly recommend Voxengo. My favs also include the compressor and limiter plugs from Buzzcomp and Kjaerhaus. All are very affordable and sound great.

Right now you simply cannot get a better mastering plugin EQ than the PLparEQ series. I know you'd find it difficult to believe but they're not just best, they're free. (until the 10-band version goes commercial)

See this thread, http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 50#1478650

and follow davids links.

As for compressors and limiters, you can't go wrong with voxengo stuff (soniformer, marquis, elephant, polysquasher). The PSP mastering compressor is one of the best as well.

What Kingston said. Though I don't like the PSPMasterComp.
In the end will be the word.

T-Racks or a mix of individual plugins like Elemental Audio (Eqium), Sonalksis (SV315) and a brickwall limiter like the Voxengo Elephant. Also take a look to WaveArts. The PSP MasterCompressor or the VintageWarmer are another good idea... Another choice is the new Marquis Universal Compressor from Voxengo...
Its not easy to give a recommendation, because its depends of the "sound" someone preferred. More "transparent" or more "analog"? Mostly its a mix of all... on the tracks more "analog" at mastering more transparent.

Im not a huge fan of mastercomp either

I am very happy with Voxengo Mastering Suite, AnalogSuite TapeBus, Warmifier. Great values.

Another vote for Voxengo here and also Kjaerhus. I use the following plugins for mastering...

Voxengo CurveEQ, HarmoniEQ, Marquis Compressor, Elephant

Kjaerhus GPP-1 (for peak compression, not limiting), GCO-1

If you intend to colour your mix, you could also try Voxengo GlissEQ and Kjaerhus GEQ-7 but I prefer linear phase EQs at mastering.

I don't really dig PSP personally, nor do I dig Elemental Audio. But this is personal taste really. Ozone isn't bad in my opinion, but I haven't gone into depth with it much.

Cheers

Aha, cool! I'm definitely more wiser now. Gonna make this job a bit easier - no doubt about that.
