Hello everybody - 1st post here :)

I've been progressively paring down my guitar rig to a "real" head + cab for rock-ish stuff and a laptop for the more avant-garde things (looping etc). I'd like to cop that Adrenalinn feel, only using software. I'm pretty aware of the software modelers to handle the virtual amp part, but I'm at a loss when it comes to the beat synched filter + fx + sequences. The drum machine part isn't important. There are too many choices, most of them impractical.

Any tips/real world success stories?

Thanks,
AF

fxpansion's Phatsync is a perfect tempo synced filter. For free, you can try Autofilter by Kjaerhaus.

Did you check out www.camelaudio.com Space thingy.

Camelspace or UHe Filterscape.
There's also a freebee called "filterseq".

Hi AmpliFuzz,

Welcome to KvR :) As greendor and Aural Chaos mentioned (thanks guys :) ) CamelSpace is well worth looking at - it certainly offers you beat synched filter, beat synced gating and also lots of other FX. Click the link in my sig for info.

Thanks
Ben

I use the adrenalinn a lot. I also use camelspace & psp nitro. They all have some common ground, and the plugins are actually better fidelity than the adrenalinn. I think it's the ease of tracking that makes me keep the adrenalinn.
Grist for the glamour mill.

I'm a ZapFilter fan... It's a little overlooked IMHO, it can do extreme stuff

Thanks, guys! Keep'em coming if you have more :)

I'll most definitely check out CamelSpace.

Another request: is there a monophonic audio to midi converter that doesn't suck ass?

And on a tangential yet related note, what's the best ASIO host for live guitar playing? Something stable that can load different FX chains and change presets in a chain or switch between them with MIDI program changes. The Dsound stuff comes to mind, what about freebies/others?

Thanks again :D

audio to midi: I agree, most suck... But then there is the current king, Melodyne, soon to be polyphonic, apparently... we'll see

I use FL for live guit fx stuff. Others: Chainer, SpinAudio stuff

The full version of Melodyne is already polyphonic.
It's only Melodyne Uno which is mono.

The Cre8 and Studio versions of Melodyne are multi-channel but they still use the same Melodyne engine as Uno which means they can only do their magic on a monophonic signal. This will change with the upcoming version 3, at least for Melodyne Studio.

i've never actually used adrenalinn, but from what i've heard, i think devine machine's minion can do at least some of the stuff it can: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1676.html

plus, minion just kicks ass in general for making cool beat-synched sounds.

Minion is great with guitar.

Don't forget about dblue's Glitch. Cheap and you can get some really crazy effects out of it.

You're on fire :D

Tried CamelSpace demo, and WOW. Great stuff, Ben. Now I'm off to try out all the other recommendations.

Further questions:
Is there any way in any host to set the master host tempo by tapping on a midi pedalboard? One of my bands doesn't use the click for the drummer, so it would be a necessity.

Is there something like a VST arpeggiator for audio apart from the old AnalogX one which was more of a stutterer anyway?
