stop taking my skills away u bastards

seems every time i learn something about production someone snatches it away- first all this talk about leaving the compression off drums, now people are saying that you need 20-30 hz content. Damnit, Im tempted to go make music with a stick and a rock.

a nice way is to eq your subby bassline to it sounds nice and round and well, eqed, and then feed it to a bus and on the bus just distort the f**k out of it and then chop away most of the low end and then just put some big reverb on it and the some big mad chorus/flange

I say, if you need multiband compression, then your mix is :puke: to begin with

Which is why most good mixing engineers mix at fairly low volumes.

If it sounds good quiet, then it will generally sound better loud.

digital clipping is great though on beats, because you dont loose any dynamics as oppose to limiting

isn't all code material free source?

IMO side chaining compression is a poor excuse at attempting to hide the fact that your drums aren't fat enough

i'd rather spend a few thousand on a hardware synth, than spend a whole day trying to make a vst sound like hardware......more time to actually make music

they'r easy to use, but better learn sidechaining(at least if your purpose is "controling your sounds")

resample a thick square bass with a bit of release and reverse it.

spread out an tr 808 kick over an actave and play a low passed sin behind it

compress the bejesus out of a sin

tri and sin combo with slight harmonic dist on both.

2 detune squares with lp filter set to 1/2 way with a deleay and rasied attack on the filter envelope played against a sub square.

use some sort of warming up plugin like the psp vintage warmer to emulate mixer overdrive.

sometimes you can choose the waveform of the lfo and that basically means the shape of the changes. a saw wave or sine wave just goes up and down gradually, whereas a square wave is on and then off, with no inbetween.

Dont know why I am doin this seeing as how most people on here are anti-mpc
its cuz they are haters....they wish they had a grand to spend on an mpc...but all they have is a cracked version of whatever sequencer and maybe a $100 usb midi controller.

I've always frankly thought that signature of yours is pompus and arrogant. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being honest. The fact that DOA, has Pendulum, Cyantific, Nosia, Paradox, Dillinja, and Fanu on shows that it is not some site full of mororns. I've heard your tunes, and you're good for a youngster, but until you're as good as the people I just mentioned you might want to swallow some modesty pills. This forum is huge but there isn't one big artist that I know about it who is active on it, DOA has them posting every day.

I'm sorry to be harsh, but sometimes the best thing you can get in music is someone to be honest to you, but pal, I don't think you as good as you think you are.

How clever. I've always thought yours was pretty stupid too. I mean clearly the man milking the cow KNEW that he would get milk because he had:

a: Women around to "perform" their own lactations
b: The calf suckling when it was time for food
c: Brains to know that there are female cows and male cows.

So you see... your own signature isn't all that girlfriend.

No I'm sure they do, in fact BT visits this site. The point is that it is known that there are top artists on DOA, as opposed to it being likely there are.

Top artists? I happen to think Vurt, Mystar, Sicklecell (when wasn't banned) and that other guy, dystonia. I happen to think they're all top artists.

In fact, anyone on this site who doesn't suit mainstream music, well, they're top artists too.

The other thing you notice about DOA is there are far less immature people like you there. I love this site but it has become the victim of people who sole purpose of being here is to argue. I've read your posts in other thread and I've seen you're always out for a fight so I won't respond bother to respond to any more of your posts in this one.

Well you have a funny way of expressing it. Your sig used to be something to the effect of "If it turns out their not all stupid". I don't have anything against you as a person I'm just pointing this out. It's a small world and people are watching. That's all, you certainly are a tallented fellow, but you have to be a bit more careful about how you come across, the net is 99% text based, and hence an easy medium for misinterpretation.
