Plugin for panning / editing the stereo image ?

I'm not sure what the correct term for this is, but I'm looking for a plugin that will allow me to compress the stereo image of a track or in other words things that are too far left or right can come closer to the center.

I need this in order to make my music sound better in places where the speakers are placed in such a way that most of the audience doesn't hear both channels well.

depends what host you're using but some may include this as one of the panning modes, eg. from sx2 upwards you have things like 'dual combined panner'.
