Is it reaching the bottom? Going back up?

I don't listen to the radio/tv as much as I used to in the "pre-mp3" days.
But when I do I mostly hear very bad quality music.

There are definitley some very good songs as well.

But there are very few (if any) pop artists who are able to come up with good stuff constantly. (There were more in the past, IMO.)

Has everything already been done?

I keep hearing remakes of old songs, which sound very retarded, like that "Beverly Hills Cop" theme remake... you know. And some other remakes from the early '90s.
I haven't heard a good pop-rock song in a while. Only some mediocre stuff like "Have a nice day". WTF?

WTF?

It reached its bottom at the end of the 90's. Now it is going back up, it seems.

Not many "get" my music, but I'd rather listen to music like it than POP. Only problem is, musicians/composers are moving much faster than the POP "crowd". Then again, hasn't this always been the case? hehe

Personally I find that although cheesy, the stuff at the end of the 90's still had a much greater depth of sounds and ideas than most of the popular music released today.

Maybe that's just me though...

Image music?

whu?

the quality of popular or tendy music is a direct reflection as to the abilities of the general populace to identify beauty in art as opposed to thier weakness to be influenced by others.

greater identity and distinction in opinion = wider range of art with greater beauty.
greater level of social, economic or political influence = narrow range of art lacking beauty.

Poptastic.

It's a well-oiled machine.

Anyway, you're not supposed to listen to Beyonce without also wearing her range of underwear and perfume. You have to go for the total experience.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.
