How they do this great sound with such low CPU :o

Post

It is indeed a great reverb - especially if you chain two together - one with the hall algo and the other with the plate and adjust to taste.

Veeeerrryy good reverb then ;)

Kind regards

I checked their site yesterday and it hadn't been released yet. Cool! It's finally out! I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces. I have Power Couple 4 and I demoed Final Plug 5 and Multi Dynamics 5. Now I'm gonna have to upgrade to Power Suite 5! I wish there were a bundle without Panorama. I don't see myself using something like that often. But if I get PwerTrio and MultiDynamics, I only save $25, so I'm gonna go with Power Suite.

That's something I wonder myself. It's amazing how good it sounds with the amount of CPU it uses.

Well done, Rob!

So do you like this one - I seem to recall you being very critical of the previous version? Is it a vast improvement?

Post

Wavearts Masteverb allways sounded good from day one with incredible low cpu.
I bought it when it first came out over two years ago, and it has allways amased me.

I tested it for a few hours now and it does have some professional sounding and parameters that work fine, on the other hand I can hear the overall quality of the previous version....

the early reflection engine is very good!!! dense and creating the room definition, but the late reflection engine is not that good, could be little more dense.

But at least its one of the upper class VST reverbs...

ArtsAcoustic Reverb, Anwida Spazio (with the best reverse VST Reverb I ever heard, very dense, absolutely professional) and WaveArts Masterverb with perfect room simulation but not perfect dense tail.

So all these companies should put their knowledge together to generate a fantastic sounding reverb.

every one of these has its pro and contra.

Thanks fore the comments guys, feel free to keep them coming, positive or negative... we're proud of the way MasterVerb 5 came out and will also continue to enhance it further with future free updates for MV 5 customers.

One thing that may not be obvious is that the diffusion control in the early reflection section also controls density of the late reverb...we decided the control worked better this way rather than just controlling early reflections. Also, the new plate algorithm is denser than the hall algorithm (the hall algorithm is what was in MasterVerb 4, with some fine tuning to improve it for v5).

We've also experimented with two additional late reverb algorithms called Super Hall and Super Plate which may make its way into a future update in some form, for you dense folks. :)

thanks rpmartino,

did some further testing with my 3 top notch revrbs and have to come to the conclusion: Wve Arts seems to be the best one!

and yes you are right I tried the plate algo for the late reflections and I found it much better than the hall algorithm!

And now please don`t get my critics wrong.

It is a very good reverb, but you can make it even more versatile:

- two knobs :pre-delay for early reflections and late reflections
- more algorithms: late and early, what I miss is a strong dense reverse reverb, something that does sound special....and spacious
-maybe some envelope parameters, while attack is the most efficient to generate different room impressions

while the second two points are not that easy to implement, the first point with different pre delays should be very easy to program...

Thank you for the nice demo without that s***ing beeps and other things that make it hard to test a reverb in a complete mix...

think about the points....

Ps: I would also welcome the other "super hall" algorithm.....

you can make this reverb a stunning tool....

Now that's a nice GUI.

can get very creative too

That Drum Plate preset is excellent :) Realy this could be my favorite reverb. But i will do some more testing ;)

And i like that DEMO politic. Full working for 30. days is more than fair.

I think the GUI's on all the updated WaveArts plugins are excellent...give the designer a pat on the back :)

I am still debating whether to invest in some new production type plugins and these are still on the list, so I may yet take the plunge. It'd be nice if it were possible to put together your own plugin bundles, so that you could choose the ones you wanted and an appropriate discount was worked out accordingly on the site...this is something I think all developers should consider doing...
